Help With Derelict Factory Crane

So, I'm currently stuck at the factory. I removed the first barrel with the crane, but the right most barrel is still there. Several sites said to use B,B or B,A - but whenever I input any of those buttons it doesn't seem to register? I've tried doing it ON the tone and flash, after, or a little bit beforehand, but nothing seems to work.

I'm not using a controller, I'm using the keyboard and I haven't changed any of the default configs.

There is another room next to the crane room. The computer inside will tell you exactly what key to press.
