if you think an update can fix all the bugs in a game I invite you to go to your nearest butcher shop and buy 500 grams of fresh brains.
in case you don't know about it you should know that every update that fixes bugs also adds new ones.
Controller joystick controls are really bad. You can either fix this through steam settings or just use keyboard or d-pad controls and it's just fine that way.
The UI has some weird issues that I don't like, such as the Quit button being hidden in the settings menu or being unable to take screenshots of the cinematics.
But I've had nothing gamebreaking or really technical beyond that. No crashes or stuttering, graphics have been fine or better than the original. No issues with save corruption or anything like that.
I think a lot of people still consider the Nintendo DS version of the game to be the best, but beyond that I think this version is the most convenient and still close enough.
Wow. This could of been said with out the harshness. Gosh.
Controller support very poor. The X and Y buttons are backwards, even when you change them in the settings. Furthermore, if you do change them the Y just stops working - and it controls the menu, so you can't change it back. You're stuck.
Certain scenes in the game require a button to be pressed - but the game doesn't recognise the input from a controller, you need to press the equivalent keyboard button...
Stop whining and use a keyboard then. The game is based on the touch-screen DS version, for craps sake. You can play almost entirely with a mouse.
You can also use Steam's built-in controller config to fix your problems.
How is this a bug? To many people, this is an improvement since it makes the battles more exciting and fast-paced.
SNES > DS >> PS1 > pre-March 2018 mobile > post March-2018 mobile / Steam.
The SNES version of the game has an option to set the battle speed either faster or slower than the default speed. I expect that other versions do as well, though I haven't checked it out.
