Does This Version Have NG+?
From what I remember NG+ was necessary to get certain items and/or certain endings in the original SNES game. In other ports NG+ was removed, like the playstation port, and so these items were inaccessible. Does this pc port have NG+?

On the playstation version, when the game was finished, a save would be made that informed that version that you could use NG+. There were places you could download that save so that you could start a new game plus with any save.
I wouldn't expect the Pc version to show NG+ until you finish it once.

why would it have a new game+ at the start of the game? its ment to let you roll over all your levels money and items so you can explore the alternate endings

This version is known as the worst of them. I'd suggest you stop misinforming people with your false beliefs that this version is "good" in any ways. Also, people noticed you never even finished it so what are you waiting for? You played 5 hours and you just abandoned it. Good job, troll...

NG+ is a core feature of this game so yeah, it's there. But I suggest you don't buy it unless you don't mind dealing with a very crappy mobile port. People like that other user would tell you that it works but if you look at what everyone says of it, the reputation of this port stands on very little.

Supposedly, SE will throw a patch for snes graphics this month among other stuff so I don't know how it will fix or not the game. There's another thread about it. Now it just depends on what you feel like dealing with. Right now, you can mod the graphics a little but patch might break those.

ignore zero. he's a raging fanboy that has to show up anywhere i comment and text wall anyone who might agree with me into submission

he's also overall incorrect seeing as he has no first hand experiance. and just goes by what others say."

the objectively worst port is the ps1 port. the worst looking version is the snes version. this in my eyes is a step up

Nobody agrees with you... Except maybe some few snowflake fanboys. And you still haven't explained why you just abandoned your "sweet version" after only 5 hours of gameplay. Look around you and whatever posts you made and I'm sure you're quite tagged as a troll by now.

Your post here amounts to "I need to convince myself that this version is good" but you already stopped playing it before even finishing it. I'm just here to stop you from misinforming users...

For the sake of correcting your repetitive BS, I'll politely tell you to stop using your stupid and incorrect argument. If you had a brain, you could easily see everything that's wrong with this port. And I will just, for the lolz, remind you that you blindly defended this before owning it...

Also lol at "objectively". I don't think you know what "objectively" means. It is already agreed upon that snes and DS version are both superior to this. Why do you think SE will patch the game with snes graphics this month? Modders are the ones fixing the entire mess of SE, meanwhile...

Websites even went as far as putting comparisons and I think everyone can tell what looks better and what looks worse. Want proofs? I can show you them anytime. Heck, I already did in the past while all you did was moan that people didn't agree with your trolling. Do us a favor, leave...

Suuure. So the entire world is blind and only you isn't. You prefer characters and tiles that look like sht instead of characters that actually have noticeable faces? Take the hint, there is a reason why every news around and everyone hates on this port. It's because it noticeably look like sht.

The details all look off place in the mobile version while they look in place in the snes version. Next, Marle actually has a face. In the mobile version? She has... um... something. Instead of a face. The tiling looks like crap on mobile version, the tiling looks perfect in the snes and DS version.

Sorry to say, Dzaka, but you're one of VERY FEW people who shamelessly defends this. Modders bought it because they can save this game and guess what? Lot of people are using the mods.

And this is only a small share of the reputation this game gets. It is acknowledged as trash. Why? Because SE released a very terrible port. Your white knighting is just very pathetic... Especially coming from someone who didn't play their "sweet" game more than 5 hours. Try hard... :P

Thanks for the information. It is good to know this port is based off the DS version, with what I read has a better translation, but I'll probably wait and see how it looks after the update. I remember seeing some pictures that showed examples of the tiles being mismatched, so hopefully it fixes it.

I asked about NG+, because when I tried the PS1 port I didn't see it in the menu like with the SNES, which allowed you to start a NG+ game with any save, even unfinished ones, and thought it had been removed. Thus I thought content wasn't accessible, but I guess unlocking it after completing the game makes sense.

Just know that SE isn't quite good with fixing their games. Their ports usually get extreme amount of bad rep but CT (along with FFV and VI) are probably the ones that got most bad rep due to how SE handled them. But yeah, NG+ is always after you finish the game at least once. :D

It has been a core thing in SE since snes so I doubt they would have removed it. Would kill the game. (as there are endings only accessible after NG+). SE's supposed patch(es) will be to the world what will either save, fix or kill CT's PC port. Everyone is waiting for the results of those.

I wish I had the amount of free time you do posting the same thing hundreds of times for a game you don't own. lol
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You do, considering your only contribution right here right now is offtopic nonsense. Also, all of my posts are different. I don't do copy and paste. Again, why would I own a trash port...? As a fan of Chrono Trigger, I have full rights to post here to discuss the poor state of a product released.

That explains it. It was a used cartridge afterall.

Yeah. To make it more clear, there is a variable on the snes where if you finish the game, it turns it on and NG+ becomes permanently available. But on the PS1, it's a variable check on the slot of memory card you saved the game on. Starting on a new memory card removes NG+ option.

Same as erasing save data on PS1 memory card. This can't be done at all on snes version.
