[MOD] Unreleased Battle Theme

Hey you guys! I just threw this all together and I hope at least someone out there will enjoy...

Here is a mod that will switch out your random battle theme with the unreleased battle theme! I think it sounds pretty sweet.

And here is some other good news: We can switch out any song in the game that we want! I made a list of every BGM. So if you want this unreleased battle theme as the boss battle instead, I can do that! You can do it yourself even! Note that we cannot switch these songs for songs on our computer. Only between files in game already.

At the moment Foobar2000 can play the SAB files, but I don't know if we'll really see an encoder as that is all SEnix stuff and likely they'll come down hard on anything released that allows encoding in their sound format.

Perhaps someone like you or someone who is good with a Hex Editor can figure something out?

I tried opening the SAB with the Hex Editor from your video but I have no idea what I'm looking at or for, but I was attempting to open a song on my computer in the Hex and copy into the SAB file. I know you probably can't just jam stuff in there this way, but I had to try just to say I did.

Yeah, there seems to be some structures in the file that I haven't established. I have not dug in enough on how Foobar2000 is able to read the file, so will need to dig into their code more.

I look forward to the results of your work. I was hoping to make a fan mod of replacing some of the tracks with Mitsuda orchestra arrangements as well as some stuff the Blake Robinson CT project.

If there was more documentation on the SAB files or a means to figure out how they are encoded / decoded I'd take a crack at it.

Ok, couple of years late on this, but there's something I'm curious about.
How hard would it be to mod in new music to the game?

Years ago someone did a mashup/remix with the CT soundfont and made a hypothetical boss theme for the Dream Devourer. For those unaware, the person who did that track was Toby Fox pre-Undertale. Would there be any possible way to get that into the game and actually slot it in for that battle?

On a related note, how hard would it be to do a straight music mod for CT? I personally would love to replay CT with an updated/remixed soundtrack if possible. There are plenty of great options for such an update if it's possible via mods.

You would have to find each individual music track you want to replace and then replace them. And also rip all of those tracks off youtube.

I'm sorry I didn't see this request until now!! I do have a link, but I need to fix some of the final boss themes as they were reported as broken.
