The original SNES CT font looks fine, and is even still very nice. It's much better than the Steam CT's font, and is much easier to read:

I'm not against the font being updated - slightly - but it has to at least look as decent as the original SNES font. Otherwise, just leave it as it is in the SNES version.
naybe something like these 2 examples...
2400 - https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Orbitron
1000 - https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Ubuntu
600 - https://fonts.google.com/specimen/MedievalSharp
12000 bc - https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Jolly+Lodger

I would prefer the SNES font. At the very least it would be good if combat used the SNES font, which is chunkier and stands out a bit better. I'd rather everything except UI elements used the SNES font, but the dialog seems to be fitted to accommodate four lines of the small DS font.
The last one was BAD and unshadowed, this is much better.
The Basic text what it's patched to now in the Steam version of the game?
The SNES version's text looks much better, and is much more readable.
That Basic text in those images is very difficult to read.
Here's the SNES' text:

And it looks even better when the text is smoothed just a tiny bit.
I would prefer the original as well but I see the DS font as an improvement.
