Is it like the SNES game, where you hold down a button to switch from the default movement speed to the alternate movement speed?

I really dislike the mobile version method of dragging the cursor a bit to walk, and a lot to run. I also dislike having the movement speed set permanently at either run or walk, and then having no quick-access button to switch movement speed on the fly.

The SNES does it perfectly, having the movement speed set to either walk or run, then holding down the SNES controller's 'B' button switches the movement speed to the alternate option for as long as the button is held down.

Is it like that in the Steam version, when playing with a controller or keyboard?

yup, you run as a standard and switch to walk while holding down a certain button....
