Returning girls cat (millennnial fair)
So how does one get the cat to follow? every time I walk up to it it runs away? Don't recall having this issue in previous versions of the game.

Don't run. Walk.

I tried that already and it still runs away.

Not sure what else to suggest then. It runs if you talk to it a second time, or if you run instead of walk. At least, that's what it did originally.

I walked up from the left side to talk to the cat, got close enough to talk to it and it followed me fine.

Ok i retried the original chrono trigger with my faithful snes emulator and yes if you talk to it twice the cat runs away but if you talk to it only once it follows you there. But in this version it runs away the first time already. I retried this and used the keyboard to control the the game to make sure i only press the button once. Also i set the walking /running switch in the options to walk to make sure its not the running. And still the cat runs away. I see no way anymore to get this to work on my machine. So i say it's a bug.

I've made sure to only hit the button once when approaching the cat. No need for people to get hostile and assume others are so unintelligent. I've restarted multiple times, walked from the start of the fair all the way to the cat, talked to the cat first, talked to the girl first, tried talking to the cat from different positions, tried leaving the area and trying again. Yet still it's not working for me. Perhaps it is for others, but it's very clearly not working for some. I was hoping there was something I was missing, but it appears not.

I got it to work after a lot of trial and error. Go into the options and set your default movement speed to walking. Then, using only your mouse to activate the touch controls, walk up, stand still, and click on the cat again using just the mouse. It will meow once and follow you properly.

This is /such/ an amazing port. :steamfacepalm:

Wow, more proof of SE's amazing port quality. I'm so happy to see people spending their money on this game! :steamhappy:

Thank you for this. I set my movement to walk just to be safe and used the mouse instead of my controller and I got it to work first try just fine. I wonder if the controller was registering multiple presses per each push of the button or something.

Eat the lunch, the cat will follow you.

Has nothing to do with walking or running.
