Survivability: Armor variety, spellcasters and more
First off, I dont have this on Steam because it's the kind of game I'd prefer to play on my phone.
It's also the only purchase I've ever made in the Google Play store in 6 years, simply because it's exactly what i've been struggling to find for so long.
The depth of the game mechanics, development effort and ongoing support put into this game is incredible for one person, so thank you.

On to the issues...
I'm on my first playhtrough, difficulty gradually moved up to "Very Hard" and almost completed Act 2. I'm just holding off so I can finish the arena and some other dungeons before I move on.

I can more or less get through any battle without my offensive characters dying and even boss battles have been fairly straight forward so far (thanks to some very lucky drops).
What I'm having a problem with though is keeping my spellcasters alive, specifically my Wizard.

There seems to be a ton of powerful armor variety for the offensive characters, like Templar and Turtle Shell and they can tank considerably well against harder opponents.
However, my Wizard gets completely destroyed in a couple of ranged hits because I'm unable to find anything better to replace the same armor he's had for over 30 levels.

It's become really evident how weak the Wizard when doing the arena battles or taking on elemental wisps. It only takes a couple of hits for him to die and he always seems to be the one they target right away.

My assassin has a better survival rate due to Dodge, but I'm in the same boat with his armor...can't find anything better than chain mail.
_____

So my questions:
1) What can I do to increase the survivability of my Wizard (370 health)? Are there better robes than the one you find in act 1?

2) Any specific armors to look out for, for Assassins, or are they restricted to chain mail?

3) What's up with all the locked areas that require keys in act 1 and 2? I'm almost in to act 3 and can't figure out how to unlock them (ie. cemetery in Shelter, locked building in the Assassins camp, the 2 locked rooms in the bottom right of the Elven city, even the Northern Elven city)

_____

Party composition:
Fighter (troll), Knight (troll) , Assassin (surehanded), Samurai (dynamo), Wizard (carrie), Priest (nodemaster)
All between lvl 32-36.

Thanks! Please leave a review on the app store 8-)

You usually find a few great drops, and it seems you found some for non-spellcasters. So the challenge is to either roll for a cool ‘hell armor’ or ‘dark armor’ the wizard can wear, or get him a ‘graviton’ amulet for 60 to 100 armor. Those are the soellcaster choices. But chekc that it is actually physical damae they suffer. Else you need resistances.

As for locked areas, some will remain locked for good, a few may open later. They are partially ways for me to expand the game later, and oartially just represent a natural end of the game world or somehung too powerful for you to handle.

As examples: the northern elf city and druid cove open in chapter 3. But the teo lcoked elven doors in south east are actual burial grounds/trees so you are not powerful enough to open those.

Gladly.

Are these available in Act 2? I've spent hours farming and checking vendors and none of these sound familiar. That amulet sounds like a beast too.

Where can I even try to find these armors? The random dungeons including castle catacombs only seem to have the brown and silver chests, which mostly drop equipment that's too outdated for me to upgrade to.
Is it possible to farm random dungeons in Act 2 which have rarer chests containing the better equipment? I'm missing something here.

I feel like I've hit a wall, because I want to complete everything available in Act 2 that will be locked out, in this case the Arena gets locked out in Act 3, but I can't do that without better equipment.
Between the extremely slow vendor restock and lack of places to farm for equipment upgrades, I can't find better equipment unless I move into Act 3.

Ah okay, that makes sense. I was under the impression that I would be locked out of these areas, much like the Arena in Act 3.

Thanks

Don’t worry too much about the arena. Some are VERY hard. Because you have an inter-dimensional Dealer once you completed the game, you can overcome certain shortcomings in terms of equipment by passing some down from other parties.

Usually the best equipment in ch2 is the dragon den chests or the loot locker. The latter comes with a hefty bill of course. Save after a long journey before you enter the shop. It replenishes stock on next entry. No good armor? Reload and re enter.

So I spent some time re-evaluating my spellcasters resistances and AR and decided to sacrifice some mana/mana regen for AR/resistances. Also went looking for meteor (got lucky) and maxed out my Magic Rupture level.

They are still very squishy, but their survivability is definitely much better than before.
With enough tweaking, I was able to complete all 5 arenas! The spellcasters even survived Ben and Michelle (barely).

Out of curiousity, are the arena item rewards (like the Ben and Michelle challenge) fixed items or random? I tried it twice out of curiousity and got the same reward, although that could be a coincidence.

Thanks again for everything.

I can set that as I want in the code, but so far have always opted to make them fixed. Because else people get angry/jealous and have to re-do the fight ;-)
