You can only choose videos using the steam overlay
AND
It can ONLY play video's downloaded throu your Steam client so you canot play 360 video content you already have on your drive :*(

Then when you finaly have a video download it tells you that you must have either tracked motion controler or mouse n keyboard

As im on a PC I have M/K but it still refuses to play as I do not meet the controler requirements.

First, I'd check to make sure you are running Windows 10. Windows 7 isn't supported at this time and both reports above sounds like running on Windows 7 issues.

If you are running Windows 10, then take a read of the FAQ here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8699-OASD-1871#360 so that you know what is and isn't working.

The early content we released for the beta is here: http://store.steampowered.com/sale/360video

Add one or more of those to your library and then from Library -> Videos, click Watch.

Thanks. And yes, we aren't trying to solve (just yet) playing your own videos. That may come in a future update...

The video should appear in the Videos section of your Steam Library. You should just be able to click play and if needed, you will be prompted to install the 360 video player.

Watch any video from your harddisk.

In steam VR status window, click the 3 horizontal bars, select media player.
Profit.

Try a smaller file size or smaller resolution of the same video if available. Mine has a really hard time with anything over 1920p and it's definitely not PC limitations. Possibly HMD resolution limitations though... Im using WMR Dell Visor for reference. My guess is SteamVR doesn't resize to fit specific HMDs yet so its best to match or be lower than native HMD res.

I've tried every free video on Steam's "360 Video" page. Not a single one of them work with a Valve Index. They open in the player, but you are forced into theater mode so in order to "turn your head" you click and drag with the mouse on the flat theater screen.... So that's pretty bad... Not sure why this program exists...
