How does vampirism work?

Does it work on hit? On death?

Tbh I still have no idea. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes it works on hit... It doesn't seem to work with the gauntlet.. I dunno..it's all very strange

Seemed to me like it only ever worked for a few seconds after you had received damage. I thought it was when enemies were standing in your blood, but I'm pretty sure that when I tested it they could be anywhere.

Hmm.. it seems you are right..it seems to work only when i get hit.. what a useless skill (just like the left one)..disappointing..

I *think* it adds a REGAIN effect like in Bloodborne, where the portion of your health bar that slowly drops to catch up can be regenerated by dealing damage. But even stacking +14 with the maxed out atonement and the Krv Rune that supports it, it seems rather weak. (But the visual effect looks awesome).
