Can’t find death mark?

Iv done the whole follow the scythe from the statue assuming that is what would get me the mark but I still haven’t met the npc that offers life drain for something, accidentally sat on the throne so I’m making my way threw agian but tryin not to miss it this time any help would be greatly appreciated

Just before the Cradle of Death (aka, before the Sueht fight), there's an elevator. Go down there, and there should be a wall to your right that you can break using the Hammer of Unmaking. Go through there, down the elevator that you find, and talk to the NPC on the right. It'll ask you what Death's gift to the living is. You'll want to answer with the word Equality, and the NPC will allow you into the next room.

If you've done this correctly, you should now be in a room with a rune and a sinister statue to the far right. When interacted with, this statue will allow you to trade health for damage. You simply need to commit to this trade once, and the Detahmark skill should appear for purchase in your skill tree.

Thanks lol I also just learned I wasn’t suppose to kill this certain boss and this will be my second play through where iv done it lol new game number 3 here I come hahha

What's behind the deathmark door? I'm iffy on spending any points into it yet but if there is something useful there I would like to know
