That's interesting, we'll take a close look at your case.
Try doing what Dryzz did, and let me know if it helps you. I understand it's just a workaround but we will make sure to fix this issue.
I'll explain to you again briefly what I did. I removed the front door, there should normally be a hole in the wall at this point, but I couldn't see it. The wall was closed. I was still able to place a new front door on the outside wall. But as you can see, the wall was still closed. It wasn't until I hit the door with the hammer that I was able to use the door.
I put in a new frontdoor, hit the wall with the hammer, the new door was there and the old one still existed. The outer door can only be opened from the outside and the inner door only from the inside. If I stand outside, I can close both doors but can't open them again. Selling the doors leaves me with a nice wall.
Now I'm working from an office with a door in the backwall which can only be opened from the outside and a front door that can only be opened from the inside
The bug is that some people had their office front door disappear into the wall under certain circumstances, and they could not place a new door in that same space because the old door was still there, just not visible. That sounds similar to what Torfwolf is experiencing. Could be more than one bug too.
And that is exactly how the feature works. We applied the exact same logic as with the windows. I can fully confirm that this is indeed not a bug.

I'm happy to erase my negative review, but can you please explain why you can't see a hole in the outside wall when you remove the door? That I as a player think that this is a bug is certainly understandable if this is different for all other walls. I would be very grateful for an answer from you.
In House Flipper you're not able to build external walls, you can only destroy and build new walls inside of properties. Because of that, if a player sold a door or a window, and there'd be a hole left in that certain spot, there would be no way to fill this hole. That is why we had to implement an autofill feature for these mechanics. I still see the problem of it not being completely intuitive, so thanks for sharing your feedback... we might think about a way to make it easier to grasp.
Cheers!
