"They grow up so fast..." refuses to unlock
I have done everything...

I have 3 adult dogs, 2 of which I know I got as puppies (even bought a another puppy to try again), A fully grown cat and even a rabbit. ALL ADULTS. I have played with them, gave them food and water, bathed them and of course gave them lots of pets and still it remains the last achievement I need. I even started with the pet DLC before the luxury one to make sure I had enough playtime in the game for them to grow. Not to mention when I logged in today, they seemed to refuse to eat all of a sudden even though I made lots of space between bowls, so the AI path-finding wouldn't get messed up...

What have I done wrong?
I must get 100% in this game or will go bananas :(

I don't think that there is a specific amount of time for the animals to become adults. The first dog that I got, it took it a *very* long time to happen. Like you, I interacted with it often and took it to every job with me. I had about given up on it becoming an adult. Then, it finally happened one day. On the other hand, the second puppy that I got, it became an adult *very* quickly and I didn't interact with it nearly as much as I did with the first one. I don't know how the game is set up to determine adulthood. I'd recommend that you just keep doing what you are doing. It will happen. It is just *very* slow at times.

It literally says (Adult) in front of all my dogs names, so unless the UI is broken and the dogs are giants I'm pretty sure they are adults.

I got this achievement very soon after I got the first dog. Didn't do anything special. Which definitely speaks for the bug theory 😕

I had the indoor swimming pool (luxury DLC )achievement unlock at the first pet DLC house. I hadn't played the luxury DLC yet and the house did not have a pool.

You think it might have something to do with game time? Like do you have the settings set up normally or the day to night cycle turned off? Wonder if that might have something to do with the achievement not triggering.

Didn't even know that was an option. I'm pretty sure everything, but perhaps the currency is stock settings.

Ah was just a thought. I know that new pets usually don't show up in the pet shop if the day to night cycle is turned off and thought maybe this might have been a factor in not getting the achievement.
I did however come across a forum dated almost a year ago of which people were having problems with this achievement ("They Grow Up So Fast") and apparently was buggy then. Some others commented that you have to make sure the pet has plenty of food, water, a bed, and a bathtub (assuming the pet is a dog) that they can walk in and out of on their own, give them treats, pet them and take them on jobs from puppy/kitten stage all the way to adulthood before the achievement triggers. Though if you have already done all of this, I'd definitely say it would be safe to assume that this achievement would be bugged.

Finally got it on my 4th try. So I moved office as I thought that the AI, Collision boxes and the path algorithm required tons of space to work correctly (A problem that happens often in smaller indie games). I spaced out every item the need far between each other and made sure all their needs were made.

I left the computer as I seriously did not want to stare at a screen doing nothing and when I came back it had popped. I have no clue if It was my theory or if it simply was bugged and the right co-routine just finally triggered. I dunno and I don't care, 'cause I finally have 100% :D

Yay! Glad to hear that you finally got it to work, though seems like it would be kind of buggy if you had to do that much work for the achievement to trigger.

I think we both was partly right. As they seemed to not want to drink, eat or pee when they turned adults. Whether this is because of locale, bad AI or a combination of both I can't really tell. However, I hope this thread will help a bit for other with similar problems :D
