Does the game not use cloud save files ?

I have reinstalled my windows and my save file is gone , does it only use local save files ? That's really disappointing

Hi HF uses cloud sync unless you disabled it.
Right Click HF in library properties > open updates tab at the bottom >enable cloud synchronization for House Flippers.
Could you check the saves / backup directory
C:\Users\YourNAme\AppData\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game

I'm sorry to hear you lost your game saves after reinstalling your windows, though, you can set up the Steam Cloud as it is supported by House Flipper.

From the Steam Library, right click on House Flipper and select Properties.
Under the Update tab, the Cloud Synchronization setting can be toggled.

If you manage to get back on your old Windows, cloud files are stored locally in the following locations by default:

PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata
Linux: ~/.local/share/Steam/userdata

I simply do not understand how this game works .

I have enabled the cloud synch and have files in my savefile from 2018 but it seems like not the save file is missing but the continue button , the buildings should be here but they are not .

I have managed to get my old stats money and perk level but the buildings ( houses ) are not , It just asks me to start from scratch which is odd

It is like it doesn't recognizes the houses but only the stats of the character

I have tried DOA's method and it did not work , it did nothing , and to be honest why would it even work , the method implies disabling cloud synch and deleting my savefiles afterwards , why would tthere be a continue button if you delete your savefile ?
