Help please regarding "exception breakpoint has been reached"
Hi. I'm on a Windows 10 laptop and have been playing the game for awhile (628 hours of playtime). I tried to play the game today and it crashed while attempting to load. I restarted the computer and tried reloading it. Again, it crashed while loading, but this time I received an error message that said "the exception breakpoint has been reached" (or something very similar as I don't remember the *exact* wording at the moment). I've never seen this error before for any program. Now, I did add some more workshop items yesterday, but the game worked fine yesterday after adding them. I played for a few hours yesterday. I should note, too, that the game has been freezing for a couple of minutes periodically for awhile now. It seems to be happening more frequently as of late, though. Just a bit of background history (in case would help).....when workshop was added to the game, I added several items. However, some of the items clearly caused an issue. It would take the game a *VERY* long time to load and then take *ages* to load when moving to a different location. It also started freezing for a few minutes here and there. So, I went and removed most of the workshop items. The game still was slow when loading, but it was a bit better. However, it did still continue to freeze on occasion. So, since removing some of the workshop items did make a difference, I removed all of the workshop items. The game loaded faster, but still slower than before adding them, and it still continued to have periods of freezing for a 2-3 minutes while playing. After doing a bit of research, I saw that the Steam overlay can cause issues with some games, so I turned off the Stream overlay on this game. That helped speed up the loading issues, although it didn't completely resolve it. Loading was still a bit slow, but tolerable. The occasional freezing continued. So, then, I decided to add just a few workshop items back. Nothing really changed with that. The game might have taken a bit longer to load initially and when changing locations, but the change was near minimal and tolerable at that point. Since it didn't make a huge difference, I added a few more small workshop items yesterday. (I thought that since the Steam overlay causes issues and was turned off that adding a few more workshop items shouldn't, hopefully, make a big difference.) The items that I added were all small - mostly items for the kitchen and a few small decorations. I saw no difference with the game after adding those items to the game. The loading didn't really get any worse and the game was still freezing periodically. I should note, though, that the freezing was happening a bit more frequently and lasting a bit longer than it had been doing. However, this has been slowly getting worse long before adding any workshop items back into the game. So, today, I was surprised when the game wouldn't load. I didn't think much of it initially, though, as this sometimes happens when loading a program. Also, I hadn't restarted the computer since adding the items and playing yesterday (it was in sleep mode overnight), so I thought maybe that was the issue. I hoped that restarting the computer (and, thus, the game) would help with any memory issues (which I thought was the probably cause of the crash at that point). Unfortunately, restarting everything did not help. It was when I tried loading the game again after the restart that the game crashed again. This time, though, I received the exception breakpoint error message. I have no idea what that error message means or what I can do about it. Would reinstalling the game help? (Sorry for this being so long, but I wanted to try and give as much information that I thought might be needed or helpful to you.)

My computer information is:

Windows 10, 64-bit (laptop)
Ram: 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable)
Graphics Card: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz
Hard Drive: 930 GB (with 450 GB free)

I don't know if any of that information is needed or helpful here, and some if it is Greek to me; but, hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction on how to fix this error. I know that some of the workshop items can cause issues, but I don't *think* that is the issue here. I don't know for sure, though. Would reinstalling the game help or should I try something else?

Thank you for any and all help with this!

Hey there and thanks for a detailed description!
So first of all, I'll have to point you towards the following thread:

There, you'll be able to find a bunch of steps you can perform in order to possibly get rid of the issues by yourself. If nothing there helps you, I suggest you find your log files and send them over to our support team!

Here's a brief guide on how to do that:
