I haven't received new mails in a while? Game finished?
Hi,

(my apologies if this topic is already in here, but i couldnt find it and i found nothing on Google)

I started playing House Flipper again a few days ago since years, and then at that time when i started it up at the first time i got 1 or 2 new mails but they wer're from a long time ago. So i noticed when i continued the playing, i haven't received new mails for now.

I saw some un-finished mails in my archive do i decided to to complete them, but now there's just nothing to do. Is my game finished? Do i maybe have completed the standard version? i don't have any dlc added out of my head.

Thankyou for answering!

Now it's essentially sandbox mode.
Buy houses, Renovate as you like.
Knock down walls, make new walls, sell windows and doors, and buy new ones in different spots, and furnish the house as you like, or as the buyers like.

Most players renovate as they like, and don't care about the buyers.
After you have bought and sold all the houses once, they become available to buy and sell as many times as you want.

Thankyou for your fast and clear response! I very liked the concept of helping people through the mails and doing the jobs for them. Working from my own creativity without having someone leading it not my favorite thing. So maybe this is it for me then. But i'll give it a chance to buy and flip without the tasks through the mails. Maybe i can find my way with it and put my creativity in it :)

The game is not considered "finished" until you have sold every house in your Browser at least once. This will give you a "Game over" achievement.

The Browser houses are not as intimidating as they look. The cheap ones are small, and you need to make a profit when selling them, so you are limited to the cheaper furniture and decorating options - just sort stuff by "price ascending" on your tablet. By the time you get to the bigger properties (200 square metres or more), you will be a lot more confident.

The majority of houses are furnished, so not much imagination is needed to replace things that look worn or broken. If a piece of furniture or a wall looks smooth and bright, you can keep it, and find options to match on your tablet.

Many YouTubers demolish and rebuild every wall before decorating a property, but you don't have to do that. I, personally, find it easier to work within the confines of an existing room, unless it's very small and awkward. You also don't have to change the function of a room - so if you have a "living room with kitchenette" you can refurnish it as such.

Thankyou very much for the explanation! I will keep this in my mind for next flippings! I´m gonna discover it :)

And with the HGTV jobs I did them all twice because you have 2 to 3 questions where you have 2 options to choose from, so I did all of them with the left options and then again with the right options, adding 10 somewhat new jobs to that list!

Edit: Here [docs.google.com] is a list of every job, what pack they are from and what house they unlock if any.

Edit 2: For some reason steam thinks this link is highly suspicious, but it is just a google sheet set to anyone with link can view/comment, nothing more.

Thankyou for mentioning!! I already knew there were some DLC's, but i didnt know in which order(use) i had to play this game. So i finished the standard mail-jobs. I have the beginning small office because its just for using the laptop in there and i haven't renovited it yet because i'm flipping other jobs. All the other houses are still open for sale and i didnt do anything with it.

So the question is: do i just have to continue flipping the houses in the browser (leaving the office itselfs) or should i first add a DLC and which?

Thankyou very much for answering :) im glad your helping!

The answer to the question "Which DLCs to buy, if any?" depends on your priorities.

One tactic would be to get the Game Over achievement as soon as possible. In this case, finish the base game first. Once the game is over, all the houses become infinitely re-buyable, so you can flip them in any order you wish. After that, buy the DLCs.

Another tactic would be to buy the DLCs first, so that you can get more furniture and decor options (they all work in all properties). This will make the sandbox portion of the game more fun, and will also add more orders.

The Garden DLC is the oldest. It adds the Gardening skill to level up, and lets you do up gardens. Once the garden is finished, you can enter the house into a gardening competition. Depending on how many stars you get, out of 5, the price of the property will increase by 10-50%. However, it is hard to get a high score (although there are guides) and gardening can be time-consuming. It can be done on all properties, including base game. There are also "traditional" email orders to do, and 3 browser houses.

HGTV, Luxury and Pets DLCs work differently. Each has a separate map, found in the Map of Jobs section on your laptop. You start with one house unlocked, where you need to do the job. After the job is finished, the house is added to your browser to flip, and more jobs are unlocked. The maps need to be scrolled, as they are too big for one screen. Map jobs tend to be bigger and more complex than email orders, often needing you to renovate and furnish the entire property. The jobs in the 2 latest DLCs are also voice-acted. The DLCs have 10, 12 and 11 houses/jobs respectively.

Thankyou very much for the explanation, insane! Very useful. One thing that i saw thats weird is that i completed all the mail-jobs(for now, idk if its all in general) and that my achievements progession is at only 7%.

So with the mail-jobs part, within i have completed every job 100% completely, i thought i finished the base game. But then i saw the achievements progession and i was like: "all the work yet brought me only 7% achievement?"

But it seems like i will get that achievement progession built up by flipping the other houses in the browser and by buying the DLC'S? I have to many questions and insecurities about doing things so sorry hahaha. I think i just maybe have to play it instead questioning all the time. But like to see you response again, thankyou for helping :)

That isn't weird at all. There are many games that count your achievements based on the Total number possible, rather than based on how many you can actually get. It's a very effective way to sell DLCs :)

I don't really know what to suggest. Buying all DLCs will make it possible for you to get all the achievements and will make the game more varied and fun. On the other hand, you could try and concentrate on the base game for now, and buy the DLCs on sale instead. It's up to you.

In any case, use one of the achievement guides on Steam - some achievements are a bit crazy, although very few are actually time consuming or difficult.

Hmm, at first, thankyou very much again for the explanation. Its really helping me out! So you actually meant the option to buy the DLC or not, depends on the price(this situation)? Actually there is a very good sale right now.. the whole bundle. So i think i'm ready to buy all the DLC's and with that go flipping the other houses :) Because i need achievements and i see flipping the other houses in the browser as a new chapter because i've done all the mail-jobs for now. So i will go for that! thankyou very much for informing me!!

Like the others above said, if you want the 'Game Over' achievement the fastest way would be to just buy/flip/sell every house in the Base Game BEFORE buying any DLC, because as soon as you add DLC there will be more houses to buy/flip/sell before the achievement will count. As for which DLC to buy, well I'm gonna be brutally honest and tell you if you have the opportunity to go ahead and hoard all of them, because in my opinion they all add something worthwhile to the game!

There are currently 22 Mail jobs in the Base Game, 3 Mail jobs in the free Apocalypse Flipper DLC and 18 Mail jobs in the Garden Flipper DLC. And like someone already mentioned above there are 10 Map jobs in the HGTV DLC (which you can do twice each with different requirements both times) 12 Map jobs in the Luxury Flipper DLC and 11 Map jobs in the Pets Flipper DLC. This makes a total of 76 Mail/Map jobs, or 86 if you do every HGTV job both ways.

As for houses you can buy, there are currently 26 in the Base Game, 4 in the free Apocalypse Flipper DLC, 3 in the free Cyberpunk DLC, 3 in the Garden Flipper DLC, 10 in the HGTV DLC, 12 in the Luxury Flipper DLC and 12 (including 1 that doesn't come with a job, added with the Pawsome Update) in the Pets Flipper DLC. This makes for a total of 71 houses including the first office, and probably even more when other DLC will get added!

Long story very short: I also wish there were more mail jobs, but at least there's plenty for sale!

Thankyou thankyou very much! I will follow it up!(in my own way ofc) And thankyou for the rest of the information! i think i can go further for a long time for now! i will stop asking and start playing for now and i will read this topic again if i have a question.
