Hoarder DLC
Guys how would you feel about a DLC that features insanely hoarded-out houses? I'm talking about mountains of trash up to the ceilings so bad we can barely walk through the place. Bugs infested everywhere! It would take hours to just clean it up and then once it's clean we have damage all over to repair until we can finally turn it into a livable home.

nice

That would be awesome!

I would love that that, but highly doubt it will take hours, because several trash piles seem to be grouped together in 1 click, probably due to a limitation in the game engine, it can't handle all the trash physics, the Outdoor Gym Map is a good example of this

I'd buy that DLC.

Good idea! I like the cleaning aspect of the game, and wish there were more jobs that needed it.

Nope. It hits too close to home.

That would be awesome! Besides, who knows what "treasures" lie beneath? Lol

I do feel a little bit the same. I never throw away something that CAN be used some time. I still have linens that I used as a kid, some 35-40 years ago (they've been used up until a couple years ago, so they've lasted quite a bit!), because I MAY use the fabric to create stuff from (like crochet bath mats and whathaveyou) :| I probably will, though. But its difficult to toss out stuff, useful or not.

Still! Wouldn't mind such a DLC. The messier house, the better, really. I kind of lose interest in a renovation job as soon as cleaning/tidying is done.

Hoardes don't always happen on useful / useless stuff, alot of times they happen because a relative, family member, friend, whatever passed away and they have no place else to put there stuff

Such a dlc would be extremely tasteless. Hoarding in itself is a REAL chronic dysfunction with clearly defined diagnostic criteria (in some cases it is a symptomatic part of a broader psycho- or neurogenic disorder, though). Hoarders aren´t just freaky people who cannot make clean and tidy - they are suffering individuals who need understanding and help, and not a stigmatizing computergame.

Actually, it wouldn't be so if implemented right. Maybe the DLC could feature a series of Email jobs from Hoarders receiving treatment and they are asking you to help clean up their house and repair or replace items that no longer function. During the clean up, they tell you bits and pieces as to what caused their behavior to skyrocket, and in return a task will appear that will ask you to renovate the room a certain way or place a certain item that will help them come to terms with their issue. And, add a bit of conflict, where you go to sell something and the person tells you no, and you have to explain (via choice response) why it needs to be sold or disposed of, with an offer to replace it with something better in some instances.

Of course, being a computer game they will have to nerf the reality of it just enough to make it actually enjoyable and playable, but in the end it's an educational experience that really makes you feel sympathetic for the home owner and raises awareness of the disorder in a way that helps to de-stigmatize it.

At least, that would be my idea on how to implement it.

Thank you for saying this. I feel exactly this way.

considering i use this game as an outlet for all the ♥♥♥♥ i cant do in this house [minor irl hoarder situation] id actually love that... its weirdly theraputic

I don't think that it necessarily has to be a hoarder situation. There are situations other than hoarding that could create such a house. Laziness is a prime example. Just because a house is full of junk, doesn't mean that there's an underlying problem. I could mean pure laziness. I have cleaned up rentals as a result of laziness. Cleaned and repaired some pretty horrendous ones. I think the idea is a great one, as long as the topic of hoarding is not in the description of the house.
