Please change how installing new external doors works
With the latest update, removing and installing external doors has become an overly frustrating nightmare. Selling the door makes the entire opening disappear, okay fine. The problem is when installing a new door you can't flip it the other way around without it being placed flush with the opposite side of the wall. Before the update, if I wanted a door to open a specific direction I could just spin it around and place it flush with the same side of the wall. This change with the new update makes it look wrong when you want to flip a door. I would suggest any of the following possible fixes. 1: Make the opening for a door separate from the actual door itself so you can install a door whichever way you want. 2: Add mirrored versions of the existing doors so you have options of which way they open. 3: Go back to having the external doors be in fixed locations like before and just be able to change the doors themselves.

It's unlikely they'd revert this change, especially when a lot of people have been asking for it for a while.

You can still control the door direction to an extent as it, placing from inside vs outside will change which wall it's flush with.

As Star Baby said, you can you just need to use your mouse scroller.

But being able to choose in which direction the doors open would be extra beneficial.

I know how to flip the door around. The problem is doing so makes it flush with the wrong side of the wall with no way to change it with this new update. I would just like to be able to position the door against the outside wall when I flip it. I'm sure other people would too.

I understand what you mean. Placing doors in existing frames allows you to adjust the placement at the "pixel" level of precision, rather than it snapping into a particular alignment. I like to have the door frame aligned in a particular way and the update makes that difficult. Enjoying the ability to move doors and windows, but needs a little fine tuning.

I've never had an issues with the new door systems (placing it down wise at least).

But yeah, I do agree with need same variant of door that are flipped. Sometime I put it near a wall and it's fine if I go out but once I go in, it blocks X items off that's an important part of the room I don't necessarily want to "hide".

I wouldn't roll back, I like placing doors wherever I want: I wouldn't trade it off.

You can use the mouse scroller to change the direction, the new door system is much better, before it was difficult to get exterior doors to line up and had space gaps around it.

They are aware they were told and already said they knew about it, it's not the ONLY issue: They just want the door open from the other side from what I understood (*Without flipping the inside to be outside if that makes sense*). There's a VERY FEW doors that already switch the side but not enough: Most of them are exterior doors on top of that.

I know it's hard to explain exactly what I'm talking about but most of you seem to have the right idea. For anyone else who reads this topic, I'll try to clarify what I mean as best I can. Keep in mind that the exterior walls are twice as thick as the interior ones you can build/destroy freely which makes this much more noticeable than it would be otherwise. What I used to do is put the doors in "backwards" if I wanted them to swing the opposite way. I could place the "backwards" door in the existing opening flush with the outside of the wall. Now, since the opening gets deleted with the old door and an entirely new one is created when you place a new door, if I flip the door "backwards" it forces it to be flush with the inside of the wall rather than the outside making it appear recessed into the wall which doesn't look right. Basically, I'd just like to be able to position a door independently from the opening so I can have it flush with the side of the wall I want rather than having the game decide for me. As I stated previously, either providing mirrored versions of the doors or making the doors and openings separate things you can buy/sell rather than together would solve this issue. I realize this is probably a non-issue to most people, but as someone who has over 1,200 hours in this game, I'd like to keep it an enjoyable experience for myself and this makes it a bit less so for me. I appreciate that people are trying to offer a solution but the only true way this will get fixed is if the devs themselves choose to make the change.
