Guinea Pigs Are Social Animals
Got the DLC just for the guinea pigs. Was excited to make the perfect house for them but I noticed that you can only have one guinea pig in an enclosure at a time. Guinea pigs are highly social animals and don't do well being by themselves. Was wondering if this is something that could be looked into or changed?

Very true, and we are fully aware of herd animals (in fact, we even put some loading screen tips about it) but we had some last-moment technical difficulties with more than one animal in one enclosure and for safety and game stability reasons we decided to postpone this feature.

Currently, we're working on an update for the Pets DLC and we will make sure to include proper herd animal caretaking in it.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Cheers! :cozycrashfish:

Yeah they are herd animals and can get really stressed out if they are solo

that's also true for bunnies. for most animals, actually.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Btw what is with the Guinea Pig House and the Rabbit enclosure from the garden dlc? I was happy to get the pet dlc, so that I can use that outdoor option for the animals. Sadly I can't take them out of there cages. :(

ah, good to know. I didn't see that loading screen message.
Just wanted to add, that I do appreciate the research you put into the dlc as far as I can tell.
Also a huge plus: Letting the player adopt pets from an animal-shelter
Huuuuge thanks for that!

Fantastic to hear and I totally understand. I was still very impressed with the guinea pig cage and how well you showed that they need certain things and space. I had a few people tell me they started playing the game after I streamed it yesterday to show off the guinea pig stuff!
Looking forward to any further updates!

I've managed to get 2 guinea pigs into one cage! I moved one guinea from the hotel into the cage but it wouldn't let me move another into the same cage. The next time I loaded the game, I tried to move the second guinea into the same cage and this time it let me! Now there's 2 of them running around in the same cage - yay! :D
