Are there still 'haunted' houses or furniture??

I have a weak heart and hate getting jumpscared. I've read that there's ghost in a toilet in the Halloween update, and I don't want to deal with neither halloween nor jumpscares. Are there still halloween houses/themes or can I turn it off?

If you have the Luxury DLC, there is Dracula's castle, but it is mostly just dark and eerie. There is nothing that jumps out at you or anything like that. In the base game, there is the Myer's house. However, with it, it gives you the option to turn off the "scary" stuff in it so that you don't have the Halloween effects with it. In both places (definitely the castle, but I don't remember for sure about the Myer's house), there may be some Halloween type pictures on the wall. Again, nothing major and nothing that you make you jump. A for the toilet, there is a rat that shows up on occasion. I don't think that it is any particular house, although I could be wrong. It certainly doesn't show up all the time (even if it is just one house). I've got over 600 hours into the game and have bought and sold all of the houses a few times (except with the Luxury DLC which I've not finished yet) and the rat just finally showed up (for me) within the past couple weeks of playing. It surprised me a bit, but I knew it might show up at some point. It wasn't any more scary, though, than the mole in the yard. You will just see a rat with red eyes for a few seconds in the bottom of the toilet. It's not part of any Halloween house, though and, unlike the mole, I don't think that you can turn that off. The Myer's house is the main Halloween themed house that has anything in it that might be "scary," but you have the option to turn that off when you go to the house for the first time.

You can disable the scare feuture of the Samantha Meyers house when starting it, the haloween castle will have one eventually too but not updated yet

also you don't need luxury DLC to get the castle its free for everyone

The Myer's house gives you the option not have it scary so that kids could play it.

As for the rat in the toilet it was just some surprise and quite humourous and only happened in Luxury DLC.

You'll love the fixing and repairing washing machines and light bulbs in this game. Its for the handy peopel who love to fix stuff. If you need to know what suites you check out youtube there is a lot of vidoes there.

The rat in the toilet is a lot older than Luxury DLC. Can't remember the first time I saw it, but I believe its at least 2 years ago.

I don't like jumpscares etc either. I didn't notice anything scary in the Castle, it was just too dark which is annoying, but not scary. Add more ligts or wait for the devs to add options to it. Don't know if the update will make it daytime, though.

Samarta Myer's house, you can opt to not have the scary stuff, which I will do also. I just ... don't like that house, even with the spooky turned off. I'm still expecting creepy stuff anyway, you know? I'll either just sell the house as-is, or do a really rushed clean-up job and sell it to whoever wants it.

Room 404 is a haunted house but it’s truley not that scary I mean a couple doors open and a lamp falls and there’s footstep prints that show up and there’s a phone call that you have to pick up but all it says is something about flipping houses in a deep voice also there’s an option to turn off haunted stuff when you first buy a haunted house
