Once you've completed all of the jobs and then purchased and sold each of the houses in the game, then you can purchase each house as many times as you'd like. This applies to the base game as well as all dlcs.
Wow, sounds like a lot of time. I don't know if I'll ever do that.
It goes by quickly and it really isn't all that many houses. I don't know the number of houses per game/dlc, but they tend to coincide with the number of jobs. Once you complete that job, then the house that you just did the job on becomes available to purchase once for you to flip however you want and then sell it. If I had to guess, I'd say off-hand that the base game has about 15 houses. I don't think the dlcs have quite as many as the base game, but that makes sense. Anyway, it goes pretty quickly.
It's easy enough if you're not trying to make tons of money. Buy a house, clean it, repair what needs repairing, sell it. Don't worry about deco or grass or anything. Takes an average of 10 mins per house, so a little over an hour to do the whole thing.
Then you can go back and buy what you want.
I've spent 642 hours playing this game. lol At first I wanted to make tons of money, now I just enjoy decorating. Then add all of the workshop mods wonderful people have made and I will probably play this forever. I just did her house as a Witch's house. The possibilities are endless. :)
