We'd love to see what happened and try to help you with the issue. We'd need to have your saves so we can look at the issue. And if you can you can also send us the backup folder.
Also you could try to reinstall the game, maybe something updated wrongly.
That being said, there are a lot of nice items added and some of the houses make for a bit of a challenge when it comes to placing certain items (looking at you cointainer park).
Still have a few houses left to complete.
2) The water front areas are too industrial. Who wants to eat at a restaurant where they load cargo containers? Just seems like a weird choice.
3) The ghost image that tells you where to place counters is really finicky. Either have them snap into place or allow us to freely place them as before.
4) The new store item where you open up the floor...its a new item in the store that I can't remember what it's called...it seems bugged. In the wine cellar there was a sliver of floor I couldn't use it on. In the jazz bar looking place, I couldn't place it at all.
5) I wish we had larger areas to utilize. This might be a U.S. thing, but I love open spaces. I live on a 3 acre lot, and that's not unusual for this area of the U.S. where I live. A 3 or 4 bedroom house with 3 bathrooms is commonly found on the market here. Houses, buildings, and properties that I've been to in real life seem so much bigger and spacious. In HF I feel like everything is so cramped and small. I mention this on the Dine Out DLC feedback because I feel like these restaurant buildings are small as well, and seems the developers have a perception of scale that seems a bit off to me.
6) That wine cellar place....what the heck...the map shows this place that looks like a castle on the water, and all we get is the basement?...that was frustrating.
First of all - this is a huge feedback and we appreciate it so so much! It was sent over to our support team, this was all I had for now!
Second of all - unfortunately empty lots are only in the Farm DLC.
You can balance it a little bit, but this was the overall idea to place them in a semi-destined place at least.
It's an entresol. We're looking into the issue. Maybe something was also placed that were colliding with the entresol?
For the big lots - it sounds like Farm DLC! Unfortunately here we focused on smaller areas.
Once again - a BIG thank you for your remarks!
Hi! Check out the tiles settings!
Settings -> Advanced -> Depth of Field - it should be unticked and this will help!
How am I suppose to make my dream cafe if I can't even add cozy sofas and such. Makes no sense. When you do the jobs in the dlc it works perfectly fine for them to want sofas and bookcases and whatever. But when you make it yourself it won't allow you to rent because "uh oh living room alert".
Also, if I wanted to make the top floor of a place a small apartment, and the first floor a cafe, it won't let me do that either.
It's just a bit weird. Please make it so we can set each room manually on whatever category we want it to be.
"It's an entresol. We're looking into the issue. Maybe something was also placed that were colliding with the entresol?"
Yes, that's it. I couldn't think of the name of it. I checked everything under the area where you place the entresol and there was nothing obstructing it. Although, if I'm the only one reporting the issue, it very well could be operator error.
BTW, I am a big fan of HF, and have around 1,300 hours in game. My post was in no way a harsh criticism or being negative just for the sake of being negative. I just thought I would share my thoughts in earnest and hopes of where the game might go. I really like building and decorating in the game. I guess that is why I was hoping for the empty lots and more space, as that is more to my taste. No other game I've played has the same feel as HF in terms of first person build and decorate.

(First renovation job)
I'm only on the first house and so far everything seems fine.
But coming back to HF 1 from HF2... holy moly, please give us the option to use the copy/change style tool from HF2. I beg you. xD Building with it seems so fluent compared to HF 1.
Sorry for the sneaky improvement/implement ask, but i had to try.
Ok, back to playing now!
I finished all of the jobs last night and am making my first coffee shop today :D
