Re: Farm DLC / Chicken Coops and Extra Nests/Interior Space

I noticed while placing one of the (absolutely HUGE) chicken coops that it only allows the three nests that come with it, and all of the remaining interior space isn't able to have items placed on it. (More nests, water/feeder, for example)

This seems like a HUGE waste of space. Would it be possible in an update (and/or hopefully for HF2 when it arrives though both would be lovely) to make better use of the locale and allow for more nests to be put within the coop without having to build a second as well as allow other accessories, considering how much land space it takes up?

i found it so weird that i couldnt add food/water/more nests in there. its such a big coop, too big for what it holds.

I agree 100%. The Coop is huge and I tried to use the little ones but my chickens don't even try to go inside them, I can't add nesting to them either, they won't stack or even allow me to pick them up and place them on another surface. I tried building a small shed to put the single nests or the triple nests in, but found out they won't let you place them up on anything so I tried a haybale, nope then a few stairs but the stairs won't let me place them inside, so that's a fail. I searched and searched for a guide or ideas to allow me to set up another Coop for them and I found nothing. Several times with so many different word search combos. This is very frustrating to say the least, when developing the Farm DLC did anyone ever think to allow some alternatives to chicken coops and if the nests would actually be used other than on the ground? Ha ha, I'm not raising Guinea hens or quails, and although there isn't any predators in the game it's something that doesn't make any sense to have chickens on the ground and not able to be enclosed and safe so they can lay eggs.
