Editing Buildings With Architect Tool
I just got the new Farm DLC and have been playing around with the new architect tool, which for the most part is pretty cool.

However I'm having an issue where I built a two story building, then noticed that you could actually build a new section of foundation butting up to the first bit I built so I went to do so to test it, but decided I didn't actually like the addition so wanted to remove it.

So I went into the edit mode and tried to move the foundation back in line to where the house outline originally was, but it insists on stopping a bit short of the original wall line (it was only a small "bump out" I added). I tried expanding it the full length of the house which allowed me to bring it back closer, but I still can't move the wall back to the original line - it stays one square to the outside.

Thought maybe that it was because it couldn't move the wall underneath the upper section of the house, so edited that and found it went one line smaller just fine. But it still won't let me move the lower floor back to its original line and so now the door which I placed in the middle of the front isn't in the middle.

Do I actually have to demolish the whole thing (including the upper floor and balcony I added) just to make return it to its original size? Basically its not letting me fully remove the little extension I put on it.

With the Architect tool activated, select the front wall of your extension and move it back until the foundation becomes a regular shape. This should correct any errors. Then move it forward again, if needed. I tried it yesterday, when the Architect tool made a hole in my foundation which I couldn't close, and it solved the issue. However my problem was with the upper floor, not the lower one.

There is a hotkey you could press while selecting a side of your foundation that lets you select a number of specific squares you wish to move, rather than a single square or the entire side. I think it's Ctrl, but it could be Shift, I don't remember which.

It wasn't giving the arrow to drag the section back inwards at all. It let me extend it bigger, but take it back in to where I had originally built it, nor make it smaller.

In the end I went in and out of edit mode enough times I got enough points to upgrade the tool to "build larger buildings" and after that it worked. So ???

Thanks for the bit on the hot key for picking just a few tiles to move. It will be useful when I build something else.

When I just started playing House Flipper, a few years ago, I restarted the game a few times, to find the most efficient way to level. It turned out that it's best to prioritise perks that give you new abilities over those that upgrade cost or speed :)
