Too much feeding

I love animals. I got so many now but I think the feeding should be a bit more realistic. I am sure no rat can eat 20 full bowls in not even 1 day xD
I fill the bowl and they eat it as soon as I am done filling it. But I would feel bad leaving them without food.
This problem is not with dogs or bunnies. But it is there with my rats, birds and Guinea pigs and my snake.
I think once or maybe twice in a day should be enough.

You only have to feed them when their symbol (paw) in the minimap isn't green anymore, you know that, right? It'll turn yellow, thus letting you know that your pet needs something.

Only animals u can pick up are green like bunny or dog. The smaller ones are only white and never change. You can't interact with them in any way aside from looking at them and feeding them. So no, there is no indication if they need something

Turtle yes I just got that one. But not my birds, guinea pigs, snake, Fishies, Rats and Iguana. Some of them like Birds have no paw prints at all

Okay, that's inconvenient. Especially if some have it and others don't.
Or maybe you just have too many pets 😅
I doubt though that they'll perish if you don't meticulously fill up their bowls all the time. I mean, it's not the game's main purpose. To be honest, I hop from one job to the next and only ever feed my pets every few jobs (and after reading your post I feel bad about to now 🙈)

Yeah might be. But it is about the feeling in the game. To take care of your pets and empty bowls it not feeling like you take care. Espacially if some bowls like the rabbits stay full for a long time

You can feed the large standing aquarium fishtank (not the small one that comes in three sizes). If you go up to the lid it has the option to feed and you sprinkle food in. However you can still do this even if you don't have any fish in the aquarium, and even if you do, the fish wont go up to the top to eat it.

I know that. But If I can feed the big fish I should be able to feed the small ones too.

Like I said. It is not necessary to feed the animals but I want to be able to do it. I want to have the feeling to have to take care of them. That's why I got the DLC. Not just for them to look halfway nice and take space
