How do GOG users get mods?
All the mods are in the steam workshop, as if nothing else past this place exists or something. Discrimination at its best. Where and how can we download mods for the game?

Go on Google and type in; House Flipper mods. You may get lucky. As far as discrimination is concerned, I personally, in the years I have been playing HF, have never come across discrimination of any sort. Rather, the community is a happy helpful one, as are the Developers and Moderators. I would encourage you to get HF on Steam. The content is vast and the brilliant creators in the Workshop, knock out some amazing stuff.
Good luck, I hope you find something out there.

All items in the workshop were created by Steam players. Why should they put them elsewhere? Just for your benefit ...?

Pardon? Did you just tell me to buy the same game twice, aka, throw another 80€ to the trash? How about... NO. If I wanted the game here, I would've bought it here.

We're discriminated because the "lovely" people here demand that we own the steam game and/or DLC absskdjhfskjdhf to download the mod. I own the game and DLC, and can't download anything because it's not the steam version. So yes, I reiterate... DISCRIMINATION against other people on GOG and/or Epic.

The moment GOG links and syncs with Steam (yes, it's a thing), I should be able to download steam workshop content.

The game is sold in more platforms, so FOR THE BENEFIT OF A LOT OF PEOPLE. This is the discrimination I speak of, and you are seemingly one the proponents of "♥♥♥♥ anyone who doesn't buy steam."
Good day, talk to wall.

Oh dear, It's a shame when someone can only express themselves with hate and abuse. Maybe, if you had done some research, you might have seen that Steam has much more to offer. As for me being a proponent of; "F**k anyone whom does not have Steam" I honestly can say, you are wrong in your assumption. What I was suggesting, was that if you wish to benefit from the workshop on Steam, you need to own the steam version. I hope GOG can strike a deal with Steam and the HF developers to include GOG users in the use of workshop items.
Love light and peace

Nemesys, it is sad that people get so angry about situations that they have put themselves in. We must have understanding and patience. Happy Flipping.

Sincerely
Gary.

That wasn't directed at you. How did you get to that?

As for you, I only got annoyed at you because of the suggestion of ditching 80€ in a game that I already own. Money doesn't grow on trees, and I don't depend on the bank of "ma&pa".

There used to be places where we could download the mods, even with steamcmd, but Valve decided that it's evil because people who don't buy the games from them are getting mods. I don't know how they think this will make people buy games twice, but hey...

Maronchan, I quote from your missive; "And you are seemingly one of the proponents of f%%k anyone who doesn't buy Steam" {End quote} I would make the strongest of complaints to GOG. Stating that you did not realise, you would not be able to use Steam Workshop Mods. And maybe advise them to make this clear in future promo's. As for putting forward the idea that you purchase the Steam version, at present, it is the only option open to you. Maybe contact one of the Modders direct, and ask them to send you their files.
God luck mate
Sincerely
Gary.

Again, are you called Nemesys9999? Because it's Nemesys9999 who's asking why should mods be anywhere else (maybe never heard of the Nexus).
So tell me, how/why are you taking something that wasn't said to you, as personal?

As for GOG, for most of the games, the mods are on the Nexus, not blocked by Steam. The sooner people accept Steam isn't the non-plus-ultra, the better.

I, for one, like to not have to be forced to update my game (it has happened), if the mods I use aren't being updated. Try doing that on steam without resorting to less advisable methods.

I also like actually owning my games, instead of "renting" them from steam. GOG has offline installers (whole game) and no DRM. Why would I want the mess that is steam?

I think before you have bought it on GOG , you should have question if they will support mods workshop , i never buy a game without see my doubts questioned , it was a bad investment buying it on GOG if they don't have workshop , so i believe you should complain to GOG about that and not here , your decision was not buy it on steam , so on steam you don't own the game , why complain about something here if you decide not buy it here ?

The advantages of Steam are as follows. You can access and play your games from anywhere in the world, on any pc you have access to. The games are stored, so even if you delete them, you can reinstall them, along with any updates, when you want. There is a multi-cultural community that not only answers most questions, but is more than helpful when problems arise. The developers update their games on a regular basis through Steam. Then there is the steam library, Steam workshops, Steam allows user and developer content. streaming, and such like. There are news updates on up coming events and new games. Steam is one of the best things to happen to gaming in years. If my PC breaks, I have no worries because all my gaming is stored on Steam. So I lose nothing.

Having purchased on GOG, you now realise how limited your gaming is, that can not be resolved here. And for the life of me, if you hate Steam so much, why are you posting on here? You either purchase on Steam, or carry on playing without the HUGE benefits of being a Steam Gamer.

Gary.

And we have regular sales where we can buy the games/DLCs at an (very) interesting price (you just missed the New Year one for HF - if you put a game on your wish list, Steam will send you an email when the sales start).

You don't seem to understand how mods work. The mods on the Steam workshop are placed their by regular users. The mod creators are the ones that decide where their mod gets placed. Not Steam. If a mod is on Nexus, the mod creator put it there. If the mod is on the Steam workshop, the mod creator put it there. Steam isn't doing ANYTHING to "block" the mods. The mod creators are the ones that choose where they put THEIR mod.

As for "renting" from Steam, you don't own the games on GOG either. Any game you buy, even with a disk, isn't "owned" by you, ESPECIALLY for digital games. Every game you buy on Steam, Epic, GOG, Playstation, XBox, what ever, is just a license to use the game software. That's it. Having things like offline installers doesn't change any of that. Sucks, but it is what it is.

It honestly sounds like you've never actually used Steam and are parroting what you read from other people as everything you've mentioned, except the forced updates, is a non issue. I was a late joiner as I did not like the idea of having to download another piece of software to play a game I just installed from disk. I didn't join until 2010-11, but in the last decade of using it, I have never had ANY reason to download an offline installer, and honestly can't even think of a reason to use them beyond transferring the game to a completely offline system, nor have I ever encountered anything related to DRM that was specific to Steam.

He says to a mod creator (on the nexus, not on this pile of crap called workshop).

Tell me of one Steam game that comes with a completely offline installer, like it used to be before everything went digital.

Steam forces updates, I lost count to how many times my mods for Bethesda games were broken by the forced updates. Kindly take a hike.

Even if GOG removes the game from its platform, I have the FULL GAME+DLC OFFLINE to install whenever I want. If you can't understand that, sorry, I can't help with low IQ.

Oh, and did I mention ONE MONTH return policy?

But for you, 2h is better of course. :steammocking:

Also, FYI, GOG games DO NOT need a launcher to start or run. Steam games DO.
