Is it possible to either expand your office shack and decorate, or to buy new house for yourself? And can I buy new exterior door and replace older one? I tried that once and was left with just a wall (exterior) I couldn't do anything with to change it. Still learning the game. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't expand existing houses. We can't destroy the outter walls to build the walls outside. There are some wall options in the Workshop so you can use them but that brings other issues with them (you can't place decorations or lights on workshop walls). As for the doors, the front doors function different then interior dorrs. When you buy the front dorrs you get an option to place them on the outside wall and when you place them you get the hammer tool to breake the wall and then you can place the doors. It's different with the interior doors because you just place the interior doors. But there are some bugs in the game and people can't put up the front doors. As for buying the new house you can do that on the laptop in the office. There is a folder with houses you can buy and you can move your office to the new house by clicking the esc button and it gives you an option to make the office in the new house that you bought. Here is my first office which I built out as an example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2877378139. I could only put doors that worked from in-game store in wall from original house. Same for lights; they had to be within the original house OR I used tables to put standing lights on.

I made the shack my office then added two Green Houses from the workshop as a bedroom and living room/ kitchen behind the shack. you have all that lawn to do with what ya want.
