Issues with getting kitchen countertops to line up properly.
Hey there! So I'm not sure if this is a bug I'm having, just how the game is, or if I'm doing something wrong gameplay wise.

I've been trying to get kitchen countertops to line up with eachother so that they are flush. I've noticed however that when placing the corner kitchen cabinet w/ sink or the kitchen cabinet w/ sink I cannot get the regular kitchen cabinet w/ double doors or kitchen cabinet w/ single doors that the non-sink portion of the countertop doesn't link to sit flush with the sink portion.

It's as if the sink countertop and the regular countertop have differnt fields of snap points. It's not really a BIG deal, but one thing I love about this game is it satisfies my need for really clean placement through well done snap points. Is this just how the game is right now? Can't seem to figure it out myself! :P

Any pointers or information would be greatly appreciated as I cant seem to find anything on this!

Well for starters your not using the corner section correctly. The reason it doesn’t have any doors on the end is because it’s designed to bend the unit around a corner, as such the unit that is placed 90 degree onto it hides the hole.

It’s not designed to be attached horizontally to another cabinet

Oh okay. I understand. I thought that this was a sort of modular system where you could I guess form countertops by putting these sections together. So if I'm understanding what you are saying correctly every one of these pieces is meant to be indipendent of eachother?

They are modular, let me take a few screenshots to explain the corner piece better

The highlighted piece is the corner unit, with the missing doors

the section you place onto that section hides the hole, and bends the unit around the corner

if i remove that section you will see the hole i mean...

the lip that your trying to line up should be up against a wall at all times, in your piccy because your using a corner section as a standard cupboard you have a lip not on the wall (near your cooker) hope that helps more

there are two sink options, a corner and a standard, if in a straight line acorss a single wall then you use the standard sink unit with full cupboard doors

there are times it still wont fit when using a corner piece, it doesnt happen often but if it does then you just bring the unit a nudge away from the wall to regain alignement, its not needed often and i dont understand why it fails at times, but yea thats the whole idea in a nutshell.

so... making the exact same pieces work that you have in your own picture it would go like this...

I have noticed in some houses/on some walls the cabinets do not end up flush.
I'm planning to do a sweep for bugs to see where and how this happens, but I have had issues making cabinets flush with eachother.

i found when theres a socket behind the cabinet it sticks out further than the one next to it, and it would be nice if we could switch the cabinet around so the hole is on the other side to place in the other corner.

lol you just rotate it
geo4375 Jul 19, 2018 @ 2:22am
you can only use it as left handed, if you wanted to place it in the opposite corner you cant, unless im missing something,

a corner will be made everytime because the combination of the corner unit and then the rest of the modular set makes any corner workable

ok cool i tried doing a u shaped kitchen but couldn't get the corner to rotate in the opposite corner,

oh yes got you cool thanks,
Shane Jul 19, 2018 @ 2:33am
the only issue i have is when the remaining space from last place worktop to the wall is not enough to get the unit to stop at the wall flush up...

so then i use a fridge instead where i can to help hide that fact, like so...
