Is a room called "terrace" part of the garden or part of the house?

In other words, does stuff I put there influence the garden competition? Or does it potentially impact the price of the house directly? When I google "house flipper terrace" the suggested fill-in text is "inside or outside" but I can't find an answer, so looks like I'm not the only one who is puzzled.

not sure what the game is asking you for or if it influences garden competitions (I haven't done any), but in general a terrace is outside the house, it could have a table and chairs or an awning. It's not in the garden per se but it's usually next to a garden

If you have to pick up the trash, it is included in the garden area. Si I guess it is garden.

Hm, this is one of the pets expansion homes - cozy house or something - and it's got a separate room, so it doesn't get counted as trash in the garden I don't think. When I bought the house, it gives me separate square footage for it, and it also lets me change the flooring.

Also, I can't build walls for the part that doesn't have a roof, but I *can* for the part that does. And I can even fence off an area that's outside the outer wall and make a new "empty room". Can't put windows on the "outside room" unless they go into the house (through the "exterior" wall).

There is an easy way to tell, but only if you are doing a job for a client in the house. If the list of tasks to do is green, it's the garden; if blue, it's the house.

If I remember rightly, the terraces in Pets DLC properties are always part of the house.
