Sizing and curtains

Would be nice if you could pick the size of your curtain rails and then the curtain length. Would also be nice if you could place curtains on the (double) sliding doors. If it's got windows, which these often do, them having curtains makes a tonne of sense.

I've noticed this too. I've gotten where I have given up even using window dressings. Blinds were my favorite. They appear to fit the window properly after assembly, but then shrink in size upon exiting and returning.

I think they should change the whole curtain system. Right now I'm having far too much trouble to find curtains that fit, if I find ones that fit at áll (on certain windows). I also think they should make all curtains and blinds "active" so you can open and close them and also have certain options in between. Also it would be very great If the devs would add some sheer ones and some (modern/contemporary) ones that are made of a more luxurious and/or natural (like linen) texture.

The only window dressings that don't need fixing are the horizontal blinds, the cheapest variety. I love how they adjust themselves to the width of the window! I wish the other kinds of blind did that as well - especially the Roman ones.

The curtains that are supposed to be sheer actually aren't, and look very ugly and low-res because of that. That's why I can't bear to use them. If this is an oversight or a bug, I hope it gets fixed soon.

The curtains added in the Pets expansion are the most annoying of all - there's no choice of colour, limiting their usefulness. Also, the image shows them as white with black details, and they sometimes actually turn out to be black with white details! This is unforgivable in a game that's largely about interior decorating...

The other curtains are fine, but very inconsistent in terms of features - some draw, others don't; some come in light-dark-patterned, others don't; some let you choose the colour of the pole, others don't; some come in a choice of lengths, others don't, for no good reason.

Overall, I feel like the window dressings are one of the game's weakest points.

Agreed. Would also be nice if you can just size them for any sort of window unless it's the tiny bathroom ones.

Also agreed. I basically just got the game and also bought a number of the expansions at the same time, so I'm not really sure what it was like before it. But from the sound of it the DLC's don't necessarily make certain items better. :')

Honestly, with how much trouble they are, they should just be made placeable like a decoration. Yes, it's cool to install them, but for all the above-mentioned reasons, I don't use them very much, and it would be better if you could just stick them over the windows and call it a day.

I agree with this too (I wish we could skip assembling in the game entirely by the way, but in this particular case I wish that even more).
