Front door of house has vanished and blocked up by an unbreakable wall

Yep, title says it all. Anyone else experienced this phenomenon upon buying the new Pets DLC?

Yes, there was a bug introduced by the big change to external doors (to make them work similar to windows). You can fix this pretty easily by buying a new door, placing the blue "ghost" image on the wall from the outside, click when the outline is green, the black frame appears just like with windows, you knock it out with the hammer, and press E for the new door to appear.

If you cannot place the new door in the old spot and it complains that there is "no room" then use another spot where you're pretty sure there's nothing blocking the way. For some people their old door seems stuck inside the wall. Once you're inside you can try with the sales gun to find the old door and sell it.

Same goes for the underground bunker, I made a cinema with an extra double wall. Note: Made the wall myself.

Now the door is gone and the wall can't be torn down. Can't put a door or window in it, since it's no outerwall.

All you do is put a new door in its place.

A door with a wall inside it makes no sense, and literally is the unbreakable wall that every house has as the outline of them but suddenly it has spawned full circle where the door should be. I'll give Piranha's tip a go and hopefully all goes well :)

I had that in the huckster house. The front door suddenly had a wall I couldn't break. I put a new door there, and when I opened it I could see the old door but could not interact with it- couldn't sell, open, or destroy the wall.
I sold the house though because I was tired of messing with it & got about 30k profit, so, win?

I am wondering when the Devs are able to fix bugs generally!? There are still Bugs since the release of the basic game years ago! Hope they can do it in the nearer future!

What i did in such a case, I went back to the main menue and come back to the game, and the "wrong door or window" or anything else what was wrong disappeared! Sometimes things come dublicated, and it works also the same way! Hope, this can help!

weird bug indeed, the old door being inside the wall and also if having a door alarm attached can block anything being placed. I managed to fix it by figuring how to delete the old door and then replacing it with a new one in the same spot. Way to many bugs that have us maneuvering around new DLC's. First was the grass growing all over Huckster's and now the wall eesh. I am genuinely grateful for all the messages on this discussion.

I have a solid bunker wall in Uncle's Bunker at the bottom of the stairs. The door was removed, and i could not place a new one in the wall. Had to access the other side of the bunker from the trap door in the back yard.

I've been able to place new doors in exterior walls upstairs, but haven't found a door or window that it will allow me to place downstairs in the bunker. (It's a double thickness wall, so you can't knock it down.)

I can only assume that maybe the door is still inside the blocked up wall that spawned over it? potentially find a way to look inside the wall and then sell it somehow?

have the same problem, doors and windows all disappeared, i don't own the new dlc though.

You should be able to replace them with new ones.....the coding for Pets DLC(which allows for adding doors anywhere) which seems to have caused the issue is still in the game even if you don't own the DLC which is probably the issue.

I had to replace vanished doors and windows after the DLC came out but havent had any problems since that initial one.

Yep, I have the same problem in the Alone Home house. Can't place doors (or windows), nor can I destroy the walls, so what used to be a doorway is now totally blocked.

I believe I had sold the door, and just left an opening in the wall. The game bug seems to be filling in solid walls where doors had been sold but not replaced. Except in the Samarta Meyer's house - those empty doorways on the rear porch were not filled in for some reason, and I had hoped they would be.
