okay i have bought and tested all 70 houses available to me in game and can not get this item to go green to place in any ceiling in any of the 70 houses , only time i can get it to go green to place is if i lay it on the floor of a upstairs room , what is wrong with this item , or am i just not trying to install it correctly , i have put it in floors and used and tested works fine , yet ive had no luck placing it in the ceilings in any of the houses in the game , i should mention its the ceilings at the top of each house i can not place it to make an attic/loft single story houses with cable roofs the same no placement only works in floors wich to me is pointless as the attic/loft should be in the roof space

Same issue. Why provide staircases if you can’t even use them. I can’t place mine in the floor or on the ceiling and I have made complaints several times but none of the game creators every day a word

How does one get to poppy house attic, (Cellar-1st floor-2nd floor-attic. if one refuses to use staircase?

With a Rosalinda attic stairs.

The houses that never had an attic, still do not have an attic.
In other words, If the space has never existed, It will not exist after after pets DLC provided staircases.
Even if there would be enough room for it.

As we cannot sell/delete stairs that exist in houses that became before Pets DLC, and even some houses in pets DLC, I agree that the stairs are rather worthless.

I really hope the devs make it possible to sell the old staircases, but I think it's unliekly to happen.
But eventually Farm DLC will give us ability to build extensions, in which case those staires might become more useful.

I would like to able to build outside/extend, and have fencing outside for animal cages like chain link or something. I have edited stairs in game but it was mostly basement stairs. I had seen the option to add stairs but only if it had an existing basement.

New stairs seemed really cool, but in practice there are few places to use them. They will not go up to a new floor that doesn't exist/that you can't get to before modification. It is nifty to be able to move a stair to a whole new location, but you have to make sure no walls interfere with it. Best option is to demolish them all, build stairs where you want them, then build rooms.
Finally there is a way to get to the "balcony" in the hostel house. It was always possible to decorate it, but not get to it without scaffolding. I made a stair coming down to it from the second (third) floor. Took a few tries to get it lined up. Wish I could post a screenshot but I am still unable to take them, sorry

Screenshot is F12 or you can use snipping tool... but I am having issues placing ceiling lamps or using existing ceiling lamps, #reusezerowaste, they are clicking above the ceiling into that "non-existent" 2nd floor/attic...
