What's with all the radiators?
First off, I have not seen a radiator in real life in over 30 years. Will I be penalized by the game if I just remove them - like it lowers my price or something? I am from Alabama and it would make more sense to put an air conditioner in every room lol .

Radiators aren't very common in the US anymore, but they are still popular in other countries and the Devs of HF are from another country (which I cannot remember which one off hand...sorry!!), so radiators are common in the game. When you are doing specific jobs (from your email or map), there are certain things you must do in the game. I think, though, that only at the very beginning is there any job that requires you add or replace a radiator and that is mostly to teach you game mechanics. When you are buying and selling houses, you can do whatever you want to them. They will still sell. That includes not using any radiators. I never use them mostly because they take too much space in the room and, since I'm from the US, they seem out of place to me. I can't say that I noticed any sort of punishment in price by not having them in a house that I'm selling. I have to say, though, that I do feel bad about my buyers getting cold. I sometimes use a fireplace or the wood heater. However, there is a thermostat in the Workshop that I put in every house. That way, they have central heat and air. All of that to say, no, you don't have to put radiators in your houses.

As MizMeow said above, only the Base game email orders require you to install or repair any radiators, to teach you the game mechanics.

So feel free to sell not only the radiators but their plumbing systems as well, to free up wall and floor space. The buyers never mention them, and there's no room temperature mechanic.

Thanks for all the info. It will sure make it easier to just get rid of the radiators and free up some space. Now if we could just get some decent AND smaller pictures for decorating.

I have not seen a radiator for over 30 years too. Last time was when I visited UK. Like Alabama it is hot here in Australia. We use reverse cycle air conditioners. Cool in summer, warm air in winter. I get rid of those radiators in the game, especially the ugly old fashioned ones that take up even more space. Would only use them if I was doing a house with an old fashioned theme. Like that old buyer couple in the game that want to downsize to two rooms. A lounge with carpet and a good kitchen. Only one plant for each as her husband has to water one since she spends all her time cooking for grand kids.

And then there is the opposite view.
I have never lived in a house that doesn't have radiators.
I have once visited a house that doesn't have radiators. (heating came trough floor)
I have never visited a house that would have air conditioning.

Haha, same for me too!
I can't imagine a house without radiators, but I also like knowing that people think the opposite of me.
