Try giving yourself challenges to follow when decorating a house your going to sell. Personally I have a few challenge wheels I spin when I need inspiration.

The first wheel I spin will tell me what the theme of the room will be. I have varying styles in the wheel as well as challenges like dlc (only use items from that dlc), monochromatic, different holidays, cheapest or most expensive items only, and don't use.

My don't use wheel consists of colour, plain (items without details), detailed (only items with details), dlc, patterns, glass, fabric, wood, and metal and whatever it lands on I won't use any items containing those. I have separate wheels for colour and dlc to specify which I will be using in my challenges. I even have a wheel specifically for my challenge options if i feel like making it more difficult.

The good part about the wheels is you can customise what challenges work best for you. You can also try doing budget challenges where you try to decorate the house or room under a certain budget.

I hope this helps! Happy flipping! :)

Mess around in the HGTV and Luxury DLC. Get creative and find new looks for the rooms instead of relying on cheaper options.

Don't limit yourself to normal homes (or whatever the buyers want). Design a restaurant, a bar, a gym, an antique store, or a schoolhouse. Try recreating the setting of your favorite show.

Or try designing a house that tells a story. Say, the house of an old couple who've remodeled most of their home but kept the room of their tragically deceased child as an untouched shrine for decades. Or a house of a rich family who, unbeknownst to them, have a squatter living in a walled-off section of their basement. Or the house of an estranged couple with wildly different tastes in decorating. Whatever you can think of.

Go ham in your builds, Like, not just furnish them but also add in things that make it feel actually lived in (For example, under my sinks I usually have a bunch of cleaning supplies, or I put toys around a kids room so it looks like it's used by a kid). You can also give yourself challenges of themed houses. Maybe you're making a princess house or maybe you're going the goth dungeon route. You can also look up style boards online, similar to the ones they give in some of the jobs and challenge yourself to stick to that style.

It could also be a time to take a break. That happens to me occasionally with the game and I may stop playing for a few weeks before coming back and becoming obsessed again.

All kinds, in Steam workshop there are player created mods. You can download them to the game by subscribing to them on Steam, they will appear in the 4th tab of your in game store menu. There are thousands of options to choose from, but I recommend starting small to learn what your pc can handle.

The new DLC is the best bet, at least usually for me. Something about new objects and possibilities gets the creative juices flowing. You can also shop around on the workshop for items as well. Even if you do not download any, they may inspire you.

Also, and this is just because it happens to me, but try to get at least an outline down before you exit the game. I have noticed that with some of the larger jobs in particular, if I do not have time to play for an extended period that picking up the pieces once I do get back feels like a chore. It has definitely caused me to drag my feet on this or that.
