For Kitchens:
- When placing furniture, such as kitchen cabinets, remember that spoons and plates on the floor (definitely) and electrical outlets (possibly) have hitboxes. So remove any such obstacles first.
- Corner kitchen units are particularly hard to line up. So if you are having a really hard time, just use kitchen sets (essentially, pre-built units in a line) and skip corners altogether.
- If the kitchen units are well laid out but old, find a style that's most similar in the tablet Store and replace them one by one.
- Kitchen island units are not meant to be placed against a wall, so they have worktops that jut out a bit more than usual.
For all rooms:
- When hanging a long curtain, make sure it doesn't clip with anything on the floor or it wouldn't install.
- When you choose furniture in the tablet Store and click "Buy", the item gets attached to your cursor. It doesn't get purchased until you left-click to place it. So you can exploit this to "preview" items, to see their colour and size before you commit.
- Items that you are carrying have no collision. Need to carry that corner sofa through the wall? No problem!
- Lintels (upper walls) create rooms, despite not being a full wall.
- Don't forget you can sell windows now, for more wall space!
- There's plenty of space-saving furniture in the tablet store, including a fold-out bed, a day-bed, several bunks (mostly in the Kids furniture section, but many of those seem adult-sized), a bookcase with a built-in desk. There are also counters, which I use instead of tables in smaller spaces, as bar stools fit under them very nicely.

Ctrl together with + or - on your number pad zooms the minimap in and out (particularly useful for wall demolition)
Use scaffolding to reach high walls.
If you are talking about towel radiators being ridiculously high, that's normal for this game :)
