This is a new feature with Steam when you click on any game in your library the Steam cloud content checks game for a sec.
Rightclick the game properties>enable cloud then look under artwork next to play> click that link and update it.
Fom now on if you click ongame in the library a short flash of a cloud will appear and check if our Steam Cloud is up to date.

One of two things are occurring... either the developers are up to their necks in attempting to solve this dilemma, or they are ignoring it (AND the players) because they are too involved with developing other projects and hope we will eventually give up.
If it is the latter, they ignore us at their own peril... I don't take betrayal lightly, and if the silence continues, no matter how good their future dlc's or games are, I WON'T BUY ANYTHING THAT HAS THE NAME FROZEN DISTRICT, PLAY WAY, OR EMPYREAN,
The cloud only affected House Flipper and no other game in my library... common sense tells me that Steam Cloud and House Flipper have an issue trying to link up to each other... no other game appears to have that problem, therefore it can only be the game itself.
I love this game, but I am VERY perturbed that the developers have given the clear impression that they have abandoned their fan base by at not at lease acknowledging there is an ongoing problem. In fact, they have made the veiled statement that the problem lies with the player, not the game. I find that highly insulting.
Wake up developers.
So none of my games error but this one and it's Steams fault?
me who's never had this problem because idek where settings is in the first place to know where to change it
yall need to chill. it's a game, things break. it's not like your bank suddenly said "whoops you have no money now, lol" chill, it's not this big of a deal.. Just, stop playing the game until it is fixed if you're this angry about it, it's not a game you should be playing if something steam did (this is NOT something the devs of HF added. and it never will be, so pardon them for not knowing how to solve something they didn't know would break, or would be made in the first place...) heck, I didn't know this was even a thing until I booted up hf and it said "we know this is a problem with some people's games, we're doing our best to fix it" basically. Chill out, because if you're having problems, honestly, speaking from my pov who hasn't turned it on in the first place? it's your fault for turning it on. So, kindly hush or stop playing, because there's no need to stress out so hard over a video game. It's not real life and it doesn't affect how you get food or how you pay for your rent. Focus on your life instead of whining and crying about a video game, jeez... ;;>~>
-Disabling Steam Cloud
-Removing the steam_autocloud.vdf from the save folder
-Re-enabling Steam Cloud
-Verifying Game files
-Reinstalling the game
This did mess up my recent save files to old ones again, good thing we have a backup.
So best thing seems to just disable Steam Cloud for now
Just so you know, this guide does not work for the majority of players affected.
