Door Trouble in Browser Houses
Is anyone having an issue fitting doors in the purchased houses? Currently playing the 'Historic House' and hard as I try I cannot fit together any of the door options in the opening where I removed the doors on the upstairs outdoor balcony. I thought I was going to have a problem downstairs with the front entry door but finally saw there were two options of the wide double doors; one that slides and one that simply opens. So, am I missing some thing or is it a bug? Thanks everyone!

I havent played the Luxury dlc yet is that the one you're playing.
Can you rotate the doors? Maybe it has front and back?
When I had a troublesome door stepping back from it then place it from further away seemed to work..
Is it called Century Old House?
Maybe its windowed french doors

Yes the Luxury DLCI, I'm playing the Historic House, I have tried rotating, moving in or out, no help. The door fits, it will snap in either in the middle or either side, the problem is that the space is so wide that none of the doors I want will fit in together to close the huge gaping hole in the house. I even tried building walls to close the gap and using windows to fill the gap but walls can only be used in the interior and windows don't work unless there is a wall already there. Pretty frustrating but what can you do?

I completed all the client jobs in Luxury DLC but not done any of the browser houses yet in it, I would wait to work on those until a few more patches come out

I am going to just wait and see on this one. :steamsad:

Okay, fiddled a little more with the doors and was able to get two to work finally. The Abstracto doors 3x2m and 1x2m worked but apparently you have to fit them together in just the right way to get them to work. I am not sure if this is the case with the other doors or not but I am sticking with what I know works, lol.

when putting in doors always put the Recessed part torward the inside or torward the room it goes too, found out on some of the client jobs if ya put them in backwards it doesn;t count so I know how that feels lol

Ahhh, well that makes sense then. I would love to see left/right hand swing doors but I'm sure that would be nit picking, lol.

I was having the same issue and after several failed attempts, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. It's the floor molding. You have to delete the floor molding in the door opening then you'll be able to fit in the doors. I was able to try all the 3x2 and 1x2 door combinations and they all work. On a side note, I really wish they would give us the ability to move exterior doors around.

It should be easy enough to add main wall door movement now that the windows feuture is in place, they just have to apply the same thing to doors

Yes that is an issue, but I didn't have molding in the doorways that I was trying to put doors in. These are exterior doors I was having problems with. I believe part of the issue is that you can only use certain doors in some of the openings. Since you cannot change the size of the opening you are pretty limited in some houses. I would love to see this changed to perhaps the same mechanic that they use with the windows. Until then, we just accept what we cannot change and work within the limits of that. Still it doesn't change how much I like the game!

Please forgive my oversight, I went back and re-played that house and you are absolutely right about the floor molding. I never even realized there WAS floor molding there! Thank you for pointing it out and again, forgive me for not double checking in the first place!
