But first of all, to future people coming across this, here's a tip for those who want to help people with similar issues in games in the future.... when you tell someone to go into settings to change something, make sure to actually know what it is called before doing so. It was not located in "General" nor "Graphics" nor "Advanced"... it was located in "Gameplay". You're welcome.
As for the devs... why is that in "Gameplay" and why is it on by default? lol..
For most people it's enough to be pointed in the right direction. It seems to be the case with you as well, as you didn't have a clue on how to fix your problem without checking this discussion first.
