How to paint the underside of eaves? (HGTV DLC)

I see that the houses I fix in the DLC get unlocked as I complete them, so I bought one for my own purposes - it's the blue-green "abandoned one" near the shore. I can't paint the underside of the outside eves. Is this a bug? I've got both scaffolding sizes since I need the reach but the paint option won't highlight any of the 1st floor eves sections. Thanks!

No it is like that on most houses that have any porch or balcony, same as stairs and ceiling you just not able to alter them like you would a real house.
