How do I build a deck or patio?

I've been through every screen and I can't find anything to the effect of laying a concrete pad for a patio or wood for a pier and beam deck. Floor coverings don't work outside the house. There's ground cover, like sand, and there's paving stones, even stairs, but no way to actually build a deck. Yet the garden tips for winning contests specifically mention it. Am I missing something?

under the garden tab surfaces there are paving slabs - lay those out for your "deck" or patio. I'm sure if you google house flipper patio deck ideas there are plenty of videos to show some. Also if you want a raised deck you can go to the architecture tab and use the garden stairs and slabs to build raised areas.

Any patio or deck is built slab by slab, or block by block. No easy way out on that one. Check out the screenshots and you'll find some creative ideas.
