Interesting. Never succeeded in placing them myself. I just wrote them off practically. Might have another go.
Can confirm that worked.
I also found a method explaining how to do it using paving slabs to "fool" the AI, but, that did not work either.
Looking at the pictures given, I notice that the ponds shown do not look like the ponds available. Are both methods out of date?
And, why, oh why can't the developer make it possible to dig and to plant your own ponds to your own design (see - The Sims if you are not sure what I mean). So simple, dig a hole. Fill and plant. Place a river and most important build a bridge over the river!
(If you don't have The Sims, Parkitect and RCT both have the dig and plant method, rivers, lakes or ponds and all bridgeable! And all plantable. )
