I feel Robbed
I bought this game and regret it. There is such a long list of problems that need to be addressed, I couldn't list them all in my review of the game because I literally ran out of room. That has never happened to me before.

All I will add to this forum before I close the chapter on this game permanently is that I hope the dev's do what's right and address their broken game. This game is not a complete game and certainly not worth $20 USD I spent on it.

I hope they do not think they can be sly and turn this into some money making scheme beyond what it already has been by introducing DLC's as fixes for what this game lacks.

Such as:

* A Better AI. As they are now, they are severely broken. They do not recognize more than one bedroom in a house, nor do they recognize that there is a living room where the TV is, the TV is not in their bedroom (they think the entire house is one big bedroom). They don't care that appliances are updated, that the house is painted, new flooring is installed. They also do not care about the exterior of the home. They only seem t ocare if the house is clean and that there is a bed and stove. Everything else doesn't matter.

It is worse if you are flipping a home with a bunker. The buyers do not care what you do to the house, only the bunker. Why have the house there at all, then?

* The curb appeal with all of these homes is lacking. And folks cannot even clean or paint the exterior of the second floor? What is up with that? Poor work by the Dev's. This is game breaking stuff here and the devs should be absolutely embarassed!

* More options to customize the homes we buy to flip. If we want a second bathroom or a separate laundry room, we should be able to create that. If we want a sliding glass door for our back door, we should be able to make it happen. If we want to move a window, we should be able to do that. If we want to add a bunker why can't we? We bought the damn house, let us tear it down and rebuild if we want.

* More furnishings. There is not a variety of things that work well in these homes. I found myself using the same kitchen cabinets, bathroom furnishings, etc. because the options suck, are too large, or are ugly and don't match with anything else.

* More paint colors that are not terrible.

* More tiles to choose from that are not scary and hideous.

Devs, you do have to appeal to the majority. I guess your white paint and grey tiles work, but that was all I was using and it made the game boring. The other colors or tiles that were options were terrible, too dark, too bright or nothing else went with them, SA, curtains or furniture colors.

* Curb appeal - we want to have pretty, manicured lawns and gardens. It would be great to expand the porches, add a deck or pool. Why not?

Why can't we properly design these homes the way we want them?

* AND YES, the fact that we are all male. It is 2018, there are female contractors, designers and flippers, yet we have no choice but to be a male. Nice oversight there, devs, but I noticed. Some may not care and typically I wouldn't have mentioned this but with everything else that this game lacks, this negligence on your part becomes more prominent.

This game is so limited, it feels like a HUGE slap to our faces. I feel as if I was taken for a fool and was robbed of my money. This game does not even come close to delivering on it's promises. It plays as if it is an early access game still in development, not one that is fully developed - not even remotely close!

There is no promise from devs that they will address these issues or add content without charging us more for it. I am afraid they that they will be coming out with DLC's to try to make up for all this game lacks and then charge everyone for it. The free DLC we got with the release of this game suggests it.

Could you imagine this game without that DLC? It would have been even more bland and there would have been even less to do had they not thrown that in there for free.

As it is now, it is not even replayable. There is no reason to go through all the contract work (emails) and flip the houses again. To be honest, installing the crap over and over again gets so tedious. It is not something I enjoy. Why can't we hire folks to do that crap while we do what we like to do? We should have that as a choice on the homes we buy to flip, minimally. Make it a perk folks have to earn, just make it available.

Anyhow, I am done with this game. The time I spent playing it wasn't worth the money I spent. The max I would have paid for this game (IF I would have purchased it) had I known the condition it is in and how much time it takes to complete everything in it would have been $5 USD, not $20.

Call me cheap and unhappy. I am. I don't feel the dev's were honest and that really upsets me. :steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

We’re sorry that you don’t like House Flipper. We’re constantly working on fixing the game, adding more features and items. If you still don’t like it, we encourage you to refund it via Steam. We never intended to mislead you. But we are always making improvement and adding new things to the game :)

putting myself in the same catgory of the one that played quite a decent amoount of hours, but indeed, the more I played the more frustrated I was getting at trying to achieve what pleased me.

the first few hours were cool, so ok, well past the 2h refund policy. The game is not as bad as that. Soonish though, you start to feel issues here and there, lack of choices, inability to perform something you thought you could (like mixing colors by using a small amount of repaint over an other color... but ofc it does not save it in that state...)

So, sorry but when I read that

Issue is, usually when a game is fully released. I'm not expecting "gold (or gem) in the making".
That's what EA are for... working to make the game great. Fully released games should be fully tested and complete to a certain degree.

On my side though, I don't complain about the price, but I do understand some find it high for what it is in current state.

When I have a fully released game with obviously features lacking (like many assets you see in house you repair, but you can't buy), I'm like many others, fearing that this game will be completed by the heavy use of DLC's...

And btw, I really don't want to go dig in forums to find that... but I saw a dev comment about gardening (first or second day after release) saying something like "hey good idea, if it's an often requested feature we may consider adding it (through DLC's maybe ? wink)..."

So yeah, when I read that, it only adds to the fear of having a game filled with DLC's that was released only "partially" to allow that behavior... And that's a marketing practice I hate along with season passes and F2P...

I will let the devs work a few weeks, maybe a month, and see from there before I drop a review.
I'm not completely closing the door, to let the game improve. But indeed I have seen some things that completely wiped out my will to play this game until it get some serious fixes and improvements.

I'm really enjoying the game but there's just not enough content or replayability. It needs more customers, job types, houses to buy, buyers, and items for the homes. And it's like some decor items were added as an after thought. There's 20+ paint colors and only 3 wall to wall carpet colors. Tan, Blue, and Green. LOL, ok. The same for the bathroon sink. Your choice is light green or white/silver(?). That makes no sense when you consider the possible colors and combinations you could do to the bathroom. It's things like that bug me and make the game less interesting in some ways. I did find a yellow bathroom sink in the admins house though, but it's not in the game. Why?

On the other hand, if you just want to redecorate homes and sell them without targeting buyers, it's pretty good. I don't care who buys my homes because there's nothing to do with the money anyway. I just enjoy the visual of putting a room together. I take pride once it's done. But, as was mentioned before, it doesn't matter as long as you please a specfic buyer so it probably doesn't matter in the end.

Totally incorrect, they react to all that stuff...

Again also incorrect, you watch Marie & Ted's reaction to placing a TV down in the house section when there is not one in the bunker sections..

I would like all this myself but it does alter the games mechanics in a way i have gotton use to the challenge of making a design around the bathroom, and if that changed now i honestly think i would lose some immersion, due to the room type mechanic.

Whilst i certaily would like more freedoms, i dont believe it should be complete freedom, just adding the ability to add a conservatory, porche, outbuilding, and so forth would be enough, perhaps move window locations same as we do the doors.

the fixtures for bathrooms not be able to move from the room itself but just around the room could be a middle ground for me i think... but yea w/e

If you use the same materials that your minds eye prefers in the same manner in all the builds then of course its going to be the case that you find it extrememly limiting. those tiles you speak of may not look so great in some homes, but in bunkers i find they can work well.

  • blue tiles = contact with air/unsecure doors
  • green tiles = safe areas
  • orange tiles =bunker entrance areas

Example:

I think this section of your comment is just somewhat argumental really, and of course they probably going to release much better options in DLC packw, which i will race to buy the moment they are released....

i missed out the cry baby stuff...

it is perfectly replayable in my view my friend and i have done a few times now, like i said it sounds to me like your keeping things to your aesthetic preferrences with no wiggle room or flex, replay the game and change the design, learn how to make each house fit a certain client, and the result of the sale be without complaint.

and of course just for fun factor !

well all that probably dont matter to ya i guess, i just wanted to let ya know how i felt about what you chose to write, because mostly i think your just whining a little too much. of course we would like more and more content, freedoms, and such

But that doesnt make this game in my view a terrible one, and im impressed personally at not only some of my own creations, but also some of the stuff posted by the community as a whole...

If you feel robbed by this dont buy lost in nature !!

The only thing that really worries me with this game is the lack of mod support. I see it as that song you listen to for a month and then get sick of it because that's all you listened to. Like the bathroom, you get only one shower but there are obviously a ton of models we could use. Same with washers (but no dryers...) People have already beat the game and have to wait for more content but so far all we are hearing is a special house is coming in the next update, but how much longer do we have to wait for another. If the game had mod support we could be playing in 50 new houses tomorrow you know?

You are a genderless, mute on this game.

The trailer for the game probably threw the bald neanderthal there just as a demonstration of what we'll be doing, not who we are.

Also they have stated they are working on several things.
The game just came out with a huger audience, not a small beta group.
Keb May 26, 2018 @ 4:17am
I do agree this game is an EA right now, but i can only comment if its overpaid once they start releasing paid DLCs, thats when we can truly say the current content is the base game, right now i look at it as an EA and i believe they will inject alot of the basic items and features missing before launching paid DLCs, if this is not the case then i will not continue to support them for obvious reasons.

As a side note, their sales are quite high for what everyone thought it would be a "niche game", so even more reasons to build up the base game structure even further.

I really enjoyed the game but for sure it should be on early access since that large amount of issues and lack of stuff make this game looks like a beta version, far for being complete and polished IMO.
It's like Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 when it was released. Maybe worse because House Flipper doesn't get as much updates and fixes.

If this is really true you can complain it to Valve (Steam) because they have to show only InGame footage.

Exactly, i really thought it is early access :/

After i finished now the jobs, which are ONLY 17 i really feel ripped. It is nice to buy a house and renovate it but since you can't change nothing like windows, radiators, plugs etc.

Also why can't i place air cooler where i want?

I think she don't like the game, she only thinks the game has lack of content which it have too.

I saw the game and i thought i like the idea and i really thought i have more than 100 if item in every categorie, but nope...It is a joke how many items i really have and as Lethallady said nothing fits together.

I am on the same path as she is it needs much more content or the possibility of modding.
