Like being an old school FPS person, E was never my "use" key, SPACEBAR was, and I'm always used to using Spacebar to open doors and use items in these kinds of games, but I don't have a way to rebind that at the moment, so muscle memory is a big argh thing for me.
Also not everyone's laptops for example will be in a place where you'll have much, if any room for a proper mouse, even if they own a mouse with a middle scroll wheel/button somewhere. Mine is on a stand for example with no space around it for a proper mouse [no room for it anywhere else at this time, so don't complain about that, if you don't mind :V], so doing that's out for me, even as I have a couple of mice with a scroll wheel lying around. >.>
The point is, consideration for these kinds of setups will probably benefit the devs in the future, so it's best to bring these things up in beta then wait until a more full release when it'll have them either scrambling to fix the problem or have them throw their hands up and just ignore the issues all together. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yea $5 for a crappy one, ya better off buying a quality mouse such as a Logitech MX518, its $50 New and I found a used one for $25 at the time of purchase
