Reduce painting / paneling time?

Title. Played the game for a bit and am considering refunding, almost entirely because there's about 10% interior designing, and 90% painting or paneling the walls. I spent about 40 minutes doing handyman jobs (most of which was time spent painting) to save up to buy one of the houses. I finally thought I had enough after 2 missions to buy the cheapest house, and I did, but the walls were ATROCIOUS. I decided to put in red wallpaper in the living room. I then spent about 50 minutes paneling ONE ROOM. It was extremely boring and tedious. I then spent about 15 minutes having fun and decorating the room, and then decided I better not risk spending more time in case I went over the two hour trial limit.

The point it, could someone make a mod or could the devs add in a feature where you can change the amount of time it takes to put in one panel, or add a thing in to auto-panel one room and buy the exact right amount of tiles? This would of course disable achievements for the campign, but it would be really nice to see and would improve the game for people like me who don't want to spend a huge amount of time and just want to do interior design.

If my request would be ridiculously difficult to implement and I just don't know it, please let me know. Thanks!

Use perks to level up painting. After the first house I had enough to paint multiple walls and use less paint. I hated paneling, you can level it up but it takes forever. Just paint all the rooms and tile the bathroom.

Im opposite i go out of my way to not upgrade the speed perks so that it takes as long as possible to achieve everything, i just upgrade perks that make it flow (eg paint 4walls) and those that achieve something like the prices etc...

how do you paint multiple panels at once? i got the 2 panel upgrade but it still only paints one

Click and hold on one tile then slide your mouse over to the tile beside it to start painting both at once, then you can keep dragging to paint two at a time until you run out of paint.
