Flipping House worth the $$$ over doing missions?
I just flipped the first two houses. The first one took about 50 minutesa and I made a profit of $6k. I then did the second and it took about an hour and 20 minutes and I made only $3k profit. I fixed everything, cleaned everything and put in furniture. Not sure there is anthing else I could have done. It is just not worth the time compared to doing jobs. Am I missing something?

I flipped the first house on the list and got $20k or so.
Are you sure you did everything? painting, flooring...
I didn't do the exterior, it was alright already, but still...
And I upgraded a few skills so it might a thing as well.

Yes, I did all that. I am not sure what is going on. I wonder if this could be a bug?

I did do the exterior on the second house but not the first.

I got 9k profit for the first house (I did almost nothing on the house). The second house (which looked pretty much identical) I made 11k profit and spent 3 hours on the house decorating it. The third house I renovated but only put in the essential furnishing and I made 14k profit.

Maybe there is a trick I am just missing. Not sure. Kind of frustrating.
Quick question, where do you go to buy new houses?

I have no idea and I'm wondering myself how the price is calculated. Considering that I did almost nothing except cleaning on the first house and yet made such a profit and when I spent 3 hours on the next house, which was pretty much identical, and spent 5k in furnitures, I only made just a little bit more. I guess theoratically I could just buy a house, clean it and then sell it but that would defeat the purpose of the game and isn't fun. Renovating is fun so I'm doing it no matter if it may pay less per hour.

In your laptop, where you also accept missions. But instead of checking your emails you browse for houses.

@Giordano When you look on your laptop to check your emails, it is in the browser tab right below the mail tab.

I've flipped two houses, can't remember the 1st but the 2nd I got 36k. Replace all furniture with new. Replace old switches with new. Flooring, walls, doors, appliances, etc. Oh and don't forget to wash the windows too.

Yes @Cave I did all of that but didn't see anything like the profit you did. There has to be more to it or some sort of randomness.

He probably didn't mean 36k profit but rather he sold it for 36k which leave it at around 10k pofit, roughly the same I did.

There are several possibilities. Either the sale price is pretty much fixed and you simply overdid it an spend to much money on furniture so that in the end you made less profit. Or you did in fact forgot to do something that lowered the sale price.

By the way you can check houses you sold in your laptop. It will show how much money you bought the house for, how much you spent on renovating, how much on furniture, how much you earned from selling (existing) furniture, how much you sold it for and how much profit you made in the end.

Maybe send screenshots of your sales so we can compare.

I will do that later. I do know my furniture sold vs. furniture bought almost evened out on both house which I found odd.

I saved a bit and the first house I flipped was a great success;

I bought the first house at like 31k, put maybe 6k give or take into it and sold it for like 58k. Granted i took like 3 hours maybe lol. Had a blast and now im onthe second house and gunna turn it for a big one too hopefully. This game is dope.

I put a lot of small touches on it too and paneled the whole outside and redid everything

I put in an average of 1.5 hours per house and get an average of 18K (18K on started 27-30K houses, 30K on the more expensive 58K-60K houses) to 30K profit after selling them. The trick is to put specifically the furniture that your buyer will like, take into account how many rooms they want, what kind of rooms, etc. I tend to scope my buyer list first, choose a target and then buy a house that may fit them at the money range that I can afford. If a buyer will want two bathrooms for example and the house in that range only has one, it's better to sellect a different buyer to target first.
