selling to certain buyers

I'm having a hard time selling to the buyers that I build the houses for.

I built a four room house for the stock broker with a study, guns in the study and the old couple bought it. The young couple with a baby were going to buy it but then the old couple bought it instead after I bumped them to the top. I would have felt real bad if the young couple bought it since the guns were on the computer desk and easily in reach for a toddler.

I built a two bedroom with a double bed in each room, 2 bathroom, all walls painted white, cheap furniture, 2 sofas, kitchen and living room as one room and the young couple with a baby bought it. I wanted to sell to the guy that rents houses.

I guess I'll start building without taking the buyers' likes and dislikes into consideration. And only put guns on the walls in case one of the families buy it.

I had that experience too. It’s really hard to sell it to the right buyer. Yeah... I really keen to know what can we do to flip a house so that the buyer “the guy that rents houses” can be the winners to buy the renovated house. Please Advice.

Agree they can be really frustrating, at times it just takes a toy or just add a desk to win them but keeping them on the top to auction is where I got unstuck many times I did make it through many, you have a choice keep trying get that self rewarding achievement , or when you really start to feel defeated and have tried for a long time and made no headway have a look at the top of HF discussion page on the right is Guides. Awesome people saved us. Have fun :)

I can relate. I made a separate office and put the office shelf and a book shelf and Dolan still said there was no place for his documents and the old couple bought it. I think my furniture was too expensive maybe.

I'm now targeting the artsie single lady. I see what Jaunita means about one object making a big difference. I added one picture, after already having some and I watched her move up. I've stayed away from classic furniture that she hates. I got her to move into the top position by adding flower plants and my color schemes are very artistic, using accent walls, and I found a bookshelf she really likes, so I put one in the office and one in the living room. As I started working on the kitchen she moved down to second place, but I'm going to figure out how to get her back to the top. Maybe an induction stove instead of the classic oven.

Yes, since its green tiled a light mat would work nicely beneath the table, you could also add a single line rectangular line of tiles in a lighter coloured around the table

I quit trying to sell to the right buyers. I think this is where this game suffers alot. After trying on the first few houses I realize you could just buy a dump house, clean it up and sell it without even bothering to put furniture in it and still make a nice profit. I mean with literally nothing in it. No toilets, shows, radiators lights etc. I literally ran through about 10 houses in no time and made plenty of profit.

I don't know how they fix that but this is a mechanic in the game that needs fixed for sure. Feels a bit empty like there are no real goals. At least any that are worth doing. Maybe if you sell to the right buyer it opens up more furniture or something like that.

My only enjoyment now is finishing up a house all decked out so I can move my office to it. Not sure what I'll do after that.

Game has been enjoyable overall still. I will say that much.

What I love about this game is being creative. Taking a job and completing it, fixing up the houses, etc.

If I don't sell to the targeted buyer I only missing out on an achievement. I don't get rewards for getting the achievement so no big deal for not getting it. I'm just having fun.

I'm happy to have the money to buy and fix up the houses. Since you can't keep buying the cheap houses until you finish the game, you need the money when you sell a house to buy and fix the houses that cost a lot of money.
