First Office bathroom plumbing
After i sell the dirty shower, i can't replace it with a new one. It says "there's not enough room". Why can't I replace it if the plumbing is the same?
Also, sold the piping, and now i can't replace it cause of lack of room, where it's supposed to be there..
Changed the floor and walls, but nothing

Once you add the installation, unscrew the install, then you can add a shower.
Hurrshire Jun 11, 2019 @ 12:17pm
I also ran into this, solved it by blowing out a wall and cutting into the living space.

Cool, i'm glad your idea worked.

Moving toilet plumbing little closer to the wall works too.
Sell shower and toilet and then their plumbings, put new shower plumbing and install the shower then put new toilet plumbing closer to the wall and install the toilet.

If i delete all the plumbings and try to install the shower one first, it doesn't work anyways..
I've tried restarting the game and got the same problem. Last year when i first played, this didn't happen.
Maybe expanding the bathroom, like Hurrshire said, but i want to keep it the same size.
I mean, the shower was already there when we start playing, why can't we replace it in the same spot

Oh and by the way, there is no invisible objects inside the bathroom, at least no one i can find with the move/sell tools

(Edit): new game

I see on the screenshot that the mirror is blocking. Remove the mirror and it might work try it out!

Imagine stand in the shower facing out like your going to open the door.
It opens to the right.
Where you have placed the shower currently the door cannot open out to the right as it opens into the wall and the sink.
To illustrate , this is the old office bathroom, I placed the shower installation pipes against the wall so that the shower stall is facing the window as it opens out to the right nothing in the way.
The sink is under the window and the toilet is against the wall out of the way of the shower door.

You can try selling the sink and remove the mirror
test if it places ok.
Otherwise sell everything in the bathroom.
Place new installation pipes on the wall next to where you had sink like in my screenshot so it opens outwards towards the window and to the right..

Nice bathroom, but the shower has 2 doors. Installing the shower like you did, one door gonna hit the wall

Also, i removed everything in the room, and still no success.. Maybe it's lazyness of the devs, because it worked last year when i played it last.

Maybe that venthole above is taking space

I tested it for you.
Sold the shower and toilet then tried to place shower fittings to the same wall as yours next to the window, and it will not fit there, the windows sill is blocking it possibly , there is a red line on the edge of the window. Maybe it has to have a specific wall size, as you also say it could also be the vent at the roof.
The vent doesn't seem effect the shower stall when placed on the other wall however.
Good luck :)

Some of us would like to keep things realistic. Would you install your shower like that in real life?
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The thing is.. before they let us mess with the plumbing system, we could install the shower in the exact spot where the dirty shower were. And now we can't, even that the dirty shower and it's plumbing is there by default.
It's like you take your car from the garage, and then you can't park it inside anymore because it won't fit.

I could still do it after they let us mess with the plumbing. It's just lately that I haven't been able to...

That's a quite common situation, it seems it's a new problem too; you can replace the shower in older save files. I restarted the game, thinking that maybe it got corrupted at one point, but that doesn't solve it. I removed everything around it, furniture, plumbing, walls, etc. That doesn't help either, apparently it's the frame of the windows what is blocking the shower, which can not be moved.

I couldn't wait for the devs to fix it. I had to find a new placement for everything. The only arrangement that makes sense is to place the shower in the opposite corner, I had to move the door, but at least I was able to maintain the room size.
