Wish I could just disable buyers and build/paint/decorate as I like. Hate the feeling of someone always looking over my shoulder. Just makes the game less fun.

It's already in the game. Use your laptops browser and buy houses and renovate houses and gardens the way you want. Then sell them.

Just ignore it, after a while you wont notice them.
I also felt like this when I first started playing.
Once you have completed all the email orders and bought more than 50 houses then they don't seem to show up.
