garden flipper tools
so i was curious, does the shovel only dig once for everyone else and then you must click again? or is it simply me having this issue, it would seem like so much smoother game play if it were to continously go with one click much similar to the mop tool

I have to click each time to activate the dig up dirt usually around 2 to 3 for small plants and trees 4 or so with ponds
Yeah, and it's annoying.

I find it much more annoying that lawn mowing takes so incredibly long. Especially because it's the easiest task in real life.
There should be an advanced lawnmower that can go up and down in lanes faster and more thoroughly.

The damn lawn is one reason why I'm currently ignoring the addon and leaving the gardens largely alone. I just clean up and remove weeds.

Very much agreed on that, like i'd pay an in game person to mom the lawn for me as the character is apperently a dumbass who thinks a weed eater is what you use to mow a lawn

You may call it a lawnmower I call it a weed wacker aka weed eater. NOBODY I know mows the entire yard with one.

Also, the "paintbrush" is a roller. I realize that the EU does things different but...

Well, it is not soooo simple. For traditional lime we use different types of such brushes[farbton-naturfarben.de]. Working with clay based paint (distemper f.e. - not the sickness!) is also similar. Special stuffs like tadelakt is brush + rubbing stone + towel/sponge (here[i2.wp.com]. Roller is used for works with modern paint, mostly dispersion, silicat and resin based. Roller is also used for a few kind of decorative plasterwork.

A lot of old houses (till 1970 or so) in Europe were painted with distemper or with whitechalk. Some distemper layers stand since 400-500 years (in private living houses!) and they are intact. It is really not that in the EU we use only roller. We use a lot of techniques, a lot of materials and a lot of styles.

We are talking about painting walls not canvas. Yes brushes were used for walls before the roller was invented. We now have spraying machines with hoses and guns attached, The only time you should ever use a brush, if you were in it to make money is if you do not know how to use the spray gun/roller, for cutting in, for trim, or if spraying and rolling was not to your advantage.

This coming from a long line of construction business owners.

I couldn't imagine mowing a whole yard with a weed eater, wow talk about tedious.

YES, we are talking about painting WALLS, not canvas and i talk about Europe. We have here many old houses with old plastering (50-100 years old ones are REALLY common, but i`ve seen 300-400 old plastering in perfect condition, not in a church, but in a living room!) - these are made from natural materials (like lime, clay etc) and give a better and healthier room climate + many old houses have really thick walls made from natural stones (the walls of the houses of my mother-in-law are 1,3 meter thick made from pure granite stones!) where a sustainable indoor and outdoor plastering and painting is essential. The type of heating is also important when you choose your plastering + paint combination. Of course there are possibilities to make the whole process high tech modern, but not in the case of old houses (not to talk about Fachwerk f.e.) where the old parts are to be preserved.

In Germany, a bit more than 1 million (1 000 000!) builings stand under the label of "Protection of historical buildings" - living houses, stalls etc. included. Their preservation is obligatory - you cannot and you aren`t allowed to repair your own house as you want - but you HAVE to repair and sustain it with materials in its original historical context (you aren`t allowed to change your old windows to new ones with plastic frame or to change to a different style). If your house belong to the group of these 1 000 000 building under the protection, you HAVE to accept that your house isn`t just a room that YOURS is, it is also a part of the cultural heritage of Europe, of Germany, of the UNESCO. This is really a different type of thinking - and living, not soooo tedious, really not modern, but with a lot of cultural and environmental responsibility. And it is not uncommon in Europe. And for these people (including me) using a brush for the restauration of a 100 years old wall doesn`t derogate.

I imagine your teachings are read by some. As I stopped skimming through your book I realized once again another was trying to prove the betterment of Europe over the US. For me I do not need lessons on restoration.

First, I would like to apologise if my style and my words hurt you. There are a lot of things that i really love in the US: modern philosophy and literature, jelly beans, universities, natural parks, the constitution, the civil courage and the feeling of personal freedom. And there are things that are important in my life: preserving cultural heritage belongs to this set. There is no clash in my heart between the old and the new world, as i do not prefer Hegel over Quine. But i prefer the method of "do not fix it till it works" - so till the old stuffs hold, not a single cell in my body cry for renewing. And i love old, really old houses with story and history. So my intention wasn`t giving a lesson, but more an unarticulated expression of this love - again: i am sorry if it hurt you.
