The drop rate is actually quite common. Have you never seen a 2 handed axe be used by a Viking?
For instance - I just started a game and one the very first raid this was the loadout -

There were two Vikings with swords, one with a Viking axe, one with a battle axe, and one with a war hammer. Screenshot shows the difference between the battle axe, Viking axe, and war hammer.
The display listing goes Pearl, Viking shield, Viking Axe, Exquisite Sword, Battle Axe, Wine.
Viking Axes and Battle Axes are two different types of axes and they are only found on Vikings. As shown in the screenshot I posted earlier, Viking axes are single handed weapons, battle axes are two handed weapons. Theres nothing to fix here, they’re two completely different weapons.
